Is Apache stalled? /server-status shows over 240 requests like "OPTIONS * HTTP/1.0" 200 - "-" "Apache (internal dummy connection)"

Webserver: Apache/2.2.13 (FreeBSD) mod_ssl/2.2.13 OpenSSL/0.9.8e
OS: FreeBSD 7.2-RELEASE
This is a FreeBSD Jail.
