I was in Finland and a few other Nordic countries this summer visiting schools, curious as to why Finland consistently ranks at the top of PISA (a global educational survey including 37 participating counties). 

I’ll highlight a few potential reasons- the first is…

▪️Looping! 
“Instead of teaching a new cohort of students each year, teachers who practice looping move up a grade or more with their students” (in Finland, teachers spend up to 4 years with one class!)

So why do we need this in the US?

1. It doesn’t cost ANYTHING.
