On this Valentine's Day I would like to share on my first quilts, a scrappy, pink log cabin. The very first quilt I made was a log cabin. I learned how to quilt by taking a class that taught this block. It is a great place to begin quilting, as one learns how to cut strips and manage the 1/4 inch seam allowance. There are around 480 pieces in the top of this log cabin quilt. Accordingly it's a little bit cardboardy and heavy. Nothing a bit of wear and some washes won't soften up.

A recent Missouri Star Quilt Co tutorial was for a Curved Log Cabin using a jelly roll of a fabric collection and a honey bun of white. It triggered a crazy idea... Why not make this as a MINI or should I say a mini? I took an Ambroisa jelly roll by Benartex and pulled out the four pink colored strips; there were 3 of one pink print, 2 of the other pinks.
