Polkadots for princesses...

Apparently, "official" studies have confirmed that a man's heart will race when he sees the colour of Ferrari red, and a woman's when she sees Tiffany aqua blue.

I'd like to add that that palpitations over this way also occur with polkadots, especially pink ones. Loving this gorgeous party from the blogosphere yesterday - as seen on one of my favourite spots for party inspiration - For millions of ideas for your next party, make sure you add Party Perfect to your reading list....(...I'm sure you have already !!)

SAMBELLINA PARTIES : PARTY BIRDS

Nesting Mummy bird in the tree waiting for her little one to arrive...
Thank you take home cake boxes to carry home extra afternoon tea goodies.

My sweet friend is about to have her first baby and her sister put together an intimate afternoon tea to celebrate and asked me to help her on the creative styling part of the project ...of course I jumped at the idea, especially as my friend loves "finishing touches" and appreciates lots of details. What fun I had..and I was so happy to be able to help her family give her a warm memory to treasure.. Here are a couple of the ideas to share from the little soiree...

A super simple fondue recipe from the ever fab 4Ingredients cookbook.

Using her favourite Sambellina Party Birds invitation as inspiration we chose a taupe / chocolate, red and white colour scheme. First thoughts that came to mind were chocolate, strawberries and marshmellows....which then led to a yummy orange chocolate fondue served with skewers of strawberries and marshmellows along with many other afternoon tea treats.

I cant wait to meet her little mini-me..... xx Kate

Sambellina Partyware Parties - Blue / Red and White

Following on from my recent post about loving the red, white and sky blue colour combination together, Katena sent me some photos from her little man's 4th birthday party. Lots of polkadot goodness to be found....I'm also loving the cupcake stand - who can ever get enough of that stitched ribbon ? Most of her goodies were purchased at one of our very stylish retailers - Details Details ! Check out more over at her blog.

I absolutely love to see any party photos where Sambellina has helped style up the party scene....thanks Katena. xx

Colour Combinations : Blue, Red, White

Some colour combinations just float my boat (and I seem to think a lot about colours) !!!
I have a giant "inspiration folder" packed with magazine clippings, cards, wrap, old sketches and have grand ideas to sort it out one day into colours. Now that would be fun - but might need to wait for those flying pigs to take off.

In the meantime, thought I would put together a few mini colour boards that might help in "teaming" our partyware for your next do. This is one of my favourite mixes of colour. Images by me and one from the many party ideas from the fabulous online party store The Party Parlour.  xx Kate
(PS. Looking forward to my little Christian to graduate to a big boy bed to deck out his room properly with this combo)..
