Lilies seem an appropriate Sunday subject. These were particularly incredible.

Childhood home

When I was very young, my family lived at the foot of these mountains. They are located near the city of Hyrum in Utah's Cache Valley.

Aren't we lucky to have such an amazing variety of plants and flowers. Things like this really do gladden my heart and make me happy. I'm glad it's such a beautiful world.

Sky Watch: Sunrise.

This photo was a gift. I happened to be up a little early, and saw an orange glow through my window treatment. I grabbed my camera and ran outside. It was stunning. I was so glad to be able to grab a few shots, and the chance to be able to remember forever this lovely sight.

Recently I attended a concert at an open air amphitheater, although it's not important who the singer was. I just loved the way the light and color played in this photo. Focus is sometimes superfluous.

Sky Watch: Not a Fire.

It really is just a Sunset, but it truly seemed as if the Sky were on fire. There was even "smoke".

This is the view that greeted me as I headed west on the way home Saturday night. What a sight!

Are your clouds painted on? (Vertical)

The hole in the cloud was just a small darker formation in front. I had to look at it over and over to be sure, but that's what it was.

These sure seem like they are, anyway.

Sky Watch: Light breaking through the clouds.

It was too early in the evening for the spectacular colors of a sunset, still the light was spectacular. I pulled off to the side of the  road to take the photo, and I was SO GLAD I had my camera with me!

Gateway Series: Seven

This shot looks past the base of the clock tower to the roof of the Depot. I shot it from the upper mall level. I just enjoyed all of the visual texture.

Gateway: Olympic Legacy Plaza Fountain

This fountain puts out a tremendous amount of water, choreographed to music. In the summer time people gather to enjoy the cool fun, and the plaza is literally packed all day. I was able to grab this shot before the mall opened, which is about the only time there aren't a lot of people there.

This is also my Gateway Series number Six

This statue commemorates the 2001 Winter Olympics which were held in Salt Lake City. There are quite a few beautiful reminders around town of that grand event. Next week I will be posting some photos of the Fountain on the Olympic Legacy Plaza. It puts on a spectacular show all day, every day - except maybe in the depths of winter, ironically.
