Swapping is FUN!!!

A Thing of Glorious Beauty!!
 Just look at those colours!
This is the incredible tote I received from Erica in
Mouthy Stitches 2.
This is absolute perfection to me!
The incredible piecing and fabric selection had me "chuffed", as Moira would say!
I am so darn lucky!
And, oddly enough, I made a tote for Moira, and Moira made a tote for Erica!
Seriously??
It's like our own little "six degrees" thing going on here!
The Pat Bravo's Indie fabric is absolutely what I would have picked!
Love it so much!
The key fob is so cute too with those tiny flowers! Something I won't be
seeing for a least 6 months now!
Thank you so much, Erica!!

I did a bit of sewing this afternoon as well.
On my list of must do's was the open wide zippered pouch by Anna
She is always so generous in sharing her tutorials with us, and  this one is fabulous!
I decided to make the smallest of the 3 sizes, and it was done in about 1.5 hours.
I did have to unpick once, as I had the zipper tab on the wrong side! Duh! Totally my own fault.

Love, love, love!
I used Essex linen in steel for the bottom, and the wonderful
Keep Calm from Timeless Treasures.
I forgot to take a photo on the inside, but I used Flea Market Fancy leaf dot in green.
I see many of these darlings in my future!
Thanks Anna, for a fabulous tutorial.

WIP Wednesday

Happy Wednesday to all you stitchers out there!
I was lucky enough to be accepted into  do.Good Stitches and our circle is called Happiness!
 Happiness...@
Marika asked us to do wonky Bento Box blocks with fushia, aqua, lime green and grey.
She is certainly getting wonky from me!
I am also in an international block swap called Star of Africa.
Star of Africa
June was my month to be Queen and my blocks are all starting to arrive. I'll show them when they are all here.
July was May's month and she asked for a block using pink. Because we are doing blocks that represent our country in some way, I decided to show her what livestock looks like here on the Prairies!
Sorry, May! Miss Piggy is my first attempt at applique!

I am getting closer to a finish on Who's Your Granny? which I am doing as part of the Great Granny Along.
I made a very large Granny block for the back and surrounded it it grey and another Flea Market Fancy fabric.
Sorry for the crap photos!
I did some FMQ loopy, swirly kinda thing in each block, and the stitched in the ditch around each block....
close-up...
Bound it using Lush running stitch...
I'm not done though!!
I am still going to do alot of hand stitching in the white sashing and border!
Good thing the Olympics are still on!
However, I have company that arrived last night, so I'll see how much I get done this week!
