Purpose of the study: This study examines the development of Hospitality and Tourism in Quirino P... more Purpose of the study: This study examines the development of Hospitality and Tourism in Quirino Province, including social, cultural, economic, and environmental effects, with a focus on local perspectives. Methodology: It uses the community-based tourism (CBT) framework to evaluate residents' perceptions of the effects of tourism, both positive and negative and assesses the attitudes of 200 residents towards tourism and its socio-cultural impacts through a structured questionnaire. The preliminary findings suggest that individuals have a favorable outlook on different aspects of life, particularly emphasizing the importance of preserving culture and raising awareness about heritage. The study provides valuable insights for policymakers, tourism planners, and community leaders in promoting sustainable tourism practices in Quirino Province. Novelty/Originality of the study: This unique and innovative study examined and assessed the local viewpoint on the development of hospitality and tourism in the province of Quirino.

This study assessed the level of job satisfaction among the Hospitality Management graduates of Quirino State University- Diffun Campus. Methodology: It used a descriptive design and a survey questionnaire with a four-point Likert scale in gathering the needed data. Most of the respondents are females, 25 years and below, singles, with casual/contractual employment status, and have salaries of Php 5,000 and below. A quantitative descriptive strategy was applied to identify food patterns for Filipino consumers ... more A quantitative descriptive strategy was applied to identify food patterns for Filipino consumers before, during and after the COVID-19 pandemic. Sampling was carried out using simple random sampling techniques. An electronic-questionnaire served as primary research instrument and was distributed through social media platforms to which 80 out of 250 responses were selected. Simple quantitative analysis such as mean value, frequency distribution and percentage were utilized. Results showed that the most of the respondent’s diet has wellness, social and psychological influence. Organic diet desires and self-cooking practices are continuing to grow. The study also showed that the essential aspects of food choice, health, quality and safety are increasingly being taken into account. The COVID-19 pandemic shifted the habits of food intake to healthier, influencing even the preference of consumed food. Methodology: This study used a descriptive research design to gather data in which four selected successful entrepreneurs of the province were interviewed as participants. The participants were chosen based on their business years and the other companies they have produced aside from trading. The researchers' data is classified based on the similarity of the responses of the participants. Many countries' lockdown measures have been effective in halting the spread of the coronavirus di... more Many countries' lockdown measures have been effective in halting the spread of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic, but there is rising worry about their negative effects on overall health and well-being, particularly among lecturer in the academe. This study aimed to assess the lockdown fatigue, personal resilience and coping appraisal involving 100 lecturers in Quirino State University-Diffun Campus. Four-likert scale questionnaires were adapted and used to gather data including the lockdown fatigue scale (LFS), brief resilience scale (BRS), and coping appraisal. Findings reveal that majority of the respondents are female, 31-40 years old, married, with an ongoing Master's Degree, with a permanent position in the university. The most prominent symptoms of fatigue, according to the respondents in this study, were worry, sadness, depression, tiredness or physical depletion, and anxiety. As to the personal resilience of lecturer, according to the findings, it is difficult for them to react quickly when anything negative occurs. As a result, efforts to reduce lockdown fatigue among lecturer must focus on developing their coping abilities, which will improve their mental and psychological well-being as well as their general health. A positive psychological intervention or program may be implemented to mitigate the negative effect brought by community lockdown.

The purpose of this research is to determine the organoleptic assessment and acceptability of Banana blossom Cupcake fortified with Honey. Methodology: The study utilized a descriptive survey method. Data were gathered through structured questionnaires and were assessed using a Likert scale. The questionnaires were distributed to 50 trained and untrained respondents who were faculty and students at Quirino State University. Sensory evaluation was employed on the Honey Banana Blossom Cupcake in terms of the following parameters: taste, texture, appearance, color, aroma, and presentation. Main Findings: Generally, Honey Banana Blossom Cupcake is highly acceptable among the taster respondents particularly on its appearance, color, texture, and aroma where it was rated as moderately high while its flavor was rated as highly acceptable. Perceived health-related benefits encouraged more people around the globe to consume organically-... more Perceived health-related benefits encouraged more people around the globe to consume organically-produced foods nowadays. As a result , demand for and production of organic food, including bamboo sprouts or shoots, has increased significantly. Bamboo shoot is being investigated as a source of man's rich delights. Bamboo shoot contains nutritional substances like carbohydrates, protein, fat, fiber, vitamins and many other inorganic substances. Four dishes out of bamboo shoot were enhanced using the original recipes from five local natives, four restaurants and cookery books. The standardized dishes include Bamboo Shoot Adobo, Pickled Bamboo Shoot, Bamboo shoot in Coconut Extract, and Bamboo Shoot Adobo with coconut Extract. These standardized recipes were prepared using different cooking method. Water Retort Machine was used to thermally process the standardized recipes and packed in sealed retortable pouches to destroy microbes in the food to prolong shelf-life. Consumer acceptability tests were conducted using the 9-point hedonic scale utilizing 100 panelists to include 60 students and 40 members of the faculty and staff of Quirino State University. On other hand, the nutritional content of each dish was examined by experts using Menu Eval Plus Software. The four dishes received outstanding approval from the panelists in terms of color, colour , texture, aroma, presentation and taste. The findings of the nutritional study indicated that these dishes are low in calories, high in dietary fiber and abundant in different nutrients such as proteins , carbohydrates, amino acids , minerals, fats , sugar, fiber and inorganic salts. The goal of this study was to standardize and determine the nutritional content of four bamboo shoot dishes.

Methodology: This study uses the quantitative approach. Data collection techniques were interviews and questionnaires that were measured using a Likert scale. The questionnaire was distributed to 22 respondents who were tour guides of the different tourist destinations in the province. The data were analysed using SPSS with the Frequency Counts/ Percentage, Mean and F-test (ANOVA) as statistical tools. Main Findings: The results of this study indicated most of the respondents are male. The tour guiding practices and the challenges in the province of Quirino is “Strongly Agree” when grouped by sex, age and ethnic affiliation.
