Critter Sanctuary
A World of Critters!
Critters are special creatures created from an open-source AI project by Solocorp. that are used for battling. People thought this was the perfect solution to making monster battles real. But many are abandoned and thus they occupy the ecosystems like real creatures. 20 years later, Critters are a part of everyday life, and battles are used to assert dominance.
Your teacher, Professor Oryx, helps you find a job managing the Critter Sanctuary, a place for Critters otherwise left to die due to their different complex struggles and health issues.
What little you realize though is that this strange world of Critters has many dark secrets under its exterior - one that can only be seen through the eyes of weak.

Awesome game. I have had a lot of fun so far. I really hope you decide to get back in to this one at some point. Also, thanks for making it blind accessible.
This is really fun so far! I really like the designs of the critters, they're pretty creative :D
Btw I encountered a couple of a bugs :O The path up north of banana city, going to potato town (I think?) just leads out to a big blank white space without any textures, similar to what someone else posted a pic of below.
The second was when I was in banana city, after upgrading my licence, I was able to add both the bird and fox to my party, even tho the cap was supposed to be 2. When I got back to the sanctuary I put the cat and bird on cleaning just fine, but when I tried to add either of them back to my party it said I had too many critters (even though I just had the fox lol).
Bugs aside though, I really enjoyed this, very charming atmosphere :3 (though that radio did make me very curious I must admit)
Hey, thanks! I’m not working on the game actively anymore but I am using the engine for something else so the bug tracking is helpful.
um, I walked to the left instead of following the professor and I ended up getting stuck in the void :T
help
Edit: I walked around a bunch and ended up in some place called Banana city :/ then I decided to just start over
Uh good game anyways though, the fighting mechanic is solid
Thanks! I’ve now taken care of the bug, that’s a pretty big one!
Hey cool game! The music is a bit much personally, I recommend a bit smoother sounds. It feels like my ears are being pierced by the music and sound fx lol. Otherwise the combat is fun and enjoyable.
Is it volume or a particular sound? And at what part of the game? Thanks for the feedback, it’s very helpful.
So the music is pretty pixely, thats the best way to explain it. It was rough and every beat and bop was super hard to stand. I am mainly thinking that the pitch for every beat is too high. And it was all of the sounds. If your using unity there is a way to downscale the pitch in engine without having to go back and redo all the audio. Altho this method may reduce the quality of the audio and mood your trying to set.
I’ve added a feature where you can modify the pitch along with the volume of sound effects. I don’t think I’ll change the sound effects because it’s supposed to sound like a gameboy (the music is even composed on an emulator)
