Therefore, it is necessary to value pedestrians and consequently active mobility, giving priority to the concepts of the Transportation Oriented Development (TOD) methodology. Although the Master Plan (BELO HORIZONTE, 2019) proposes that areas located in regional centralities are enhancing active mobility, can residents actually benefit from these resources at a walkable distance to access basic services? Thus, the aim of this research is to utilize digital technologies to visualize, analyze, and assess pedestrians' access conditions to commerce and basic services, identifying areas lacking infrastructure. The goal is for the model to serve as a reference for the development of public policies. To achieve this, metadata was used for parametric modeling to study walkability in the peripheral region of the city of Belo Horizonte.

The course adopts a learning methodology through action and experimentation, allowing students to create design methods supported by parametric processes, exploring technical, material, and constructive alternatives. The course is offered in a hybrid format, with an emphasis on in-person and synchronous classes, enabling the participation of students and professors from various regions, fostering an enriching dialogue among different contexts. The final project of the course consists of constructing pavilions at a 1:1 scale through the application of construction and fabrication logics. Thus, the main contribution of this study is to highlight how the creation of the course seeks to introduce new forms of innovation in the construction sector, stimulating emerging reflections and discussions in the field of architecture.

The main contribution of this work is the development of a parametric model to assess the environmental impact of intensive occupation in these areas and verify their compliance with sustainable development criteria. The study directly addresses the challenges arising from rapid urbanization, offering a digital approach to analyze and simulate the impact of intensive urban occupation in the regional centrality areas. As a methodology, we used georeferenced data, the Grasshopper parametric modeling software, and the Ladybug plugin for environmental simulations, effectively combining empirical information and computational tools to obtain significant results related to the impacts resulting from the proposed densification.

However, is this dialogue occurring? The proposal of this work is to study the conversational model proposed by Paul Pangaro (2009), based on Gordon Pask's Conversation Theory (1976a), and investigate if in fact a dialogic process between architectural design and structures education in architectural schools occurs, or if there exist the possibility of proposing a new conversational model, promoting transdisciplinary participation and collaboration procedures. Please write your abstract here by clicking this paragraph.

This methodology is based on the Performative Model, where the shape is generated using performance criteria. In the approach, the development of complex structures is only possible by reversing the process of thinking to generate the form with established parameters for geometry, material and loading aspects. Thus, the structural engineer no longer only participates in the evaluation phase but also appears in the early stages, creating a process of exploration and production of common knowledge among architects and engineers. To research performance-based design, the development of a conceptual lattice for a wind tower is proposed. Thus, a system is made to generate geometries using Rhinoceros software, the Grasshopper plugin, and the VB programming language, integrated with stress analysis through the Scan & Solve plugin.

Thus, the proposal of hybridization between architectural design teaching and structural education developed in this article presupposes a shift from the centrality given to the plastic and spatial principles of the architectural form to the development of approaches that are oriented towards the recognition of the material and constructive questions which aided by the parametric and structural behavior simulation tools allow the development of complex relationships based on tectonic procedural logic.

The methodology proposes to use evolutionary economy theory, that puts innovation as a key agent for change paradigms, to see connections between existing firms in the current paradigm and the connections that could be established for a new production paradigm through digital fabrication. For this, the role of the university and its potential for innovation, will also be analyzed, both to develop product technology, and to contextualize the technology being imported into a regional context.

To do so, it will be necessary to employ knowledge gathered from the intersecting areas of architecture, computation and engineering to rethink the use of common materials directing it towards a non-specialized workforce, a relationship that can be defined as high-low architecture.

ABSTRACT This paper aims to investigate the possibilities to develop a practical-reflexive teaching to structural subjects in architecture courses, having as a focus the development of abilities related to structural conception through the methodology of Performance-based Design and emerging digital tools. The architectural and engineering contemporary practices are using digital tools each time more sophisticated to represent and to evaluated the architectural form though processes of optimization and generation, allowing the development of an iterative process. In order create a teaching and learning environment that makes possible the didactical transposition of the professional practices to teaching, resorted to the constructivist pedagogical theories, where the student is the responsible agent for your own knowledge acquisition. The pedagogical environment built envisaged the development of hybrid disciplines that integrate the concepts of structural engineering with the project assumptions. Through the disciplines will be studied concepts of industrialization and constructive rationalization, making the students learning to work with construction pragmatics questions still in the beginning stages of the project.

This study integrates the structural analysis and the design to generate complex geometric structures, based on manufacture and assembly parameters. The used methodology is based on the Performative Model, in which the structure shape is generated using performance criteria. In this perspective, the complex structures development is only possible by reverting de shape conception process, in which its generation is linked to the geometric, material and load parameters. Therefore, the structural engineer not only participates in the evaluation phase, but also in the early stages, creating an exploration and production process of common knowledge among architects and engineers. For the purpose of investigating this approach, this work presents the design of a conceptual lattice wind tower.

only accentuates the fragmentation between design and construction. The teaching plans of the disciplines of structures emphasize that the aim of these disciplines in the courses of architecture is to promote the dialogue between architects and engineers in the practice of design through a common language between them. But in teaching practice, is this desirable dialogue between architectural design disciplines and structural education effectively taking place? Can the existing models to teach structures absorb the changes and possibilities opened by new technologies and their impact on architectural design practice? Would
changing teaching methods be enough to correct harmful traits of the field's production and reproduction mechanisms? To develop a new educational model that integrates architectural, structural and digital issues, we proposed the realization of hybrid disciplines, experimented
between the years 2016 and 2018, in the architecture courses of UFMG and PUC Minas. The model developed among these disciplines allowed an effective dialogic practice of design, enabling architecture students to elaborate new project systems that encourage the construction of a collective practice of knowledge through cooperative processes between architects and engineers, interacting with computational tools of simulation of structural behavior as a way to assist in making decisions in complex design situations.
