LIVES IN A FARM WITH HER DOG TOTO, HER AUNT
AND HER UNCLE. SUDDENLY, A CYCLONE MAKES EVERYTHING IN THE
FARM FLY. DOROTHY AND TOTO DON’T HAVE TIME TO RUN TO THE
SHELTER.
THEY ARE SCARED. THE GIRL AND THE SMALL DOG RUN INTO A
WOODEN HOUSE, BUT IT’S NOT A GOOD IDEA. THE CYCLONE IS VERY
STRONG AND MAKES THE HOUSE FLY AWAY.

WHEN SHE REALIZES THAT SHE IS LOST AND FAR FROM THE FARM,
DOROTHY STARTS TO CRY. SHE SCREAMS VERY LOUD, AND THE GOOD WITCH OF
THE NORTH ARRIVES TO SEE WHAT IS WRONG.
“HOW DO I GET BACK HOME?”, ASKS DOROTHY.
“FOLLOW THE YELLOW BRICK ROAD TO THE CASTLE OF THE WONDERFUL
WIZARD OF OZ IN EMERALD CITY. HE CAN HELP YOU,” SAYS THE GOOD WITCH
OF THE NORTH. “BUT BE CAREFUL! IT’S A LONG AND DANGEROUS TRIP.”
THEN, TO PROTECT THE GIRL, THE GOOD WITCH OF THE NORTH KISSES
DOROTHY’S CHEEK AND GIVES HER MAGIC SILVER SHOES. THE SHOES BELONGED
TO THE WICKED WITCH OF THE EAST.

DOROTHY GOES TO THE WOODEN HOUSE AND GETS THE OIL. THEN, THE
SCARECROW HELPS HER GIVE THE OIL TO THE TIN MAN. HE DRINKS AND
MOVES UNTIL HE CAN WALK AGAIN.
“THANK YOU SO MUCH! YOU SAVED ME FROM RUST AND OBLIVION!”,
SAYS THE TIN MAN, HAPPY.
“YOU’RE WELCOME,” SAYS DOROTHY.
“WHERE ARE YOU GOING, FRIENDS?”, THE TIN MAN ASKS.
“WE’RE GOING TO SEE THE WONDERFUL WIZARD OF OZ. WE NEED HIS
HELP. TOTO AND I NEED TO GO HOME AND THE SCARECROW NEEDS A BRAIN.”

DOROTHY FEELS BAD FOR THE COWARD LION. WHEN SHE TELLS
THE LION THAT THEY’RE GOING TO SEE THE WIZARD, HE ASKS TO GO
WITH THEM. HE WANTS COURAGE.
HE JOINS THE GROUP OF FRIENDS. HE IS SO BIG THAT HE CAN
SCARE OTHER DANGEROUS ANIMALS.
“IT’S GOOD THAT YOU ARE WITH US, MR. LION. IT’S BETTER THAN
PRETENDING TO BE BRAVE,” DOROTHY SAYS. THEY CONTINUE THE TRIP
TO SEE THE WIZARD.
