The research was carried out in the Indian district of Coochbehar's Dinhata SubDivision. It is a quantitative and qualitative research. Purposive sampling was used, and semi-structured interviews with rural women in the study region were used to gather qualitative data. Data were analyzed quantitatively after deductive coding according to quantitative themes. According to the report, there are divergent opinions among rural women on how political engagement may empower women. While the majority of rural women (47%) believe that women should actively participate in politics to empower themselves, 29% see this negatively and 24% have no notion how women might empower themselves through politics. Nonetheless, 67% of women in rural areas are eager to get involved in politics.

However, the research on vocabulary in recent years gradually diminishes as students age and get to higher education [1]. Many researchers recommend the effective use of digital tools to motivate students to participate actively in learning [9], and digital gamification makes quite an impact by creating student interest in word learning [1] [12]. At this juncture, our research serves the need for improving the vocabulary of Engineering students through digital gamification using 'Quizizz' in their Practice tests and Google Forms with 'AutoProctor' to preclude their malpractice during their assessment test-taking. This study was carried out based on quantitative research by collecting and analyzing numerical data of a couple of research groups, the control group (n1=45) and experimental group (n2=69), and also through a closed-ended questionnaire ...

The piece of work sheds light on the prevailing morality, which believes that chastity, repentance and submission should be the only virtues of women. Mary Wollstonecraft’s posthumous work is equipped with such powerful political statements. Maria’s character is nothing but a written defence against her oppressive and abusive husband’s misconducts against her. Wollstonecraft pens this feminist manifesto to denounce the numerous wrongs that are done to women. Her proclamation stands tall, demanding women’s right to be free of male oppression. In this research work, we would like to draw not only on the measurements of Maria: or, The Wrongs of Woman but also take a different path, focusing on a theme that is central to the novel and its feminist politics which has received little attention so far: trauma. The novel is a structuring of intertwined life events of suffering and rup...

However, in the last few years, we have witnessed a marked departure and foundational shift in the pursuit of these values. What we see in terms of the curtailment of women’s freedom, dictating personal relationship choices and maligning Muslims as a danger to Hindu women’s honour, delivers a severe blow to our pluralistic ethos and the cherished values of coexistence. The recently enacted legislations dressed up as anti-conversion laws to criminalise love choices bear a clear reflection of Nazi Germany’s Nuremberg Laws in many ways. Against the background of the state making intrusions into private spaces, denying the right to choose partners and acting as an oppressive surveillance agency, this study argues that these laws subvert the vision of our constitutional democracy and def...

However, using technology makes it more interesting and exciting for students to excel in speaking skills. It can be optimized to help improve students' speaking skills as the Internet is accessible to most students in the 21st century. Considering the significance of English-speaking skills and the likelihood of improving them using digital technology, the researchers used Flipgrid asynchronously with the synchronously-used CEFR speaking rubrics to improve the undergraduates' English-speaking skills. In this study, the researchers used short presentations to hone the experimental group's English-speaking skills, for which they employed the synthesis of blended learning and bichronous learning. To be precise, the blend of traditional learning and digital learning (Blended learning) with the blend of synchronous and asynchronous learning (Bichronous Learning) was employed in improving the speaking skills of the undergraduates in this research. This study was conducted based on quantitative research by collecting and analyzing numerical data of a couple of research groups, the control group (n 1 =11) and the experimental group (n 2 =18), through Paired t-test, as the sample is small, i.e., n < 30. This research also used a closed-ended post-test questionnaire to elicit the students' responses on the asynchronous use of Flipgrid and synchronous use of CEFR Speaking rubrics in assessing their speaking skills. The findings of this study encapsulate the considerable improvement of the undergraduates' English-speaking skills by proving that the Calculated t >Tabulated t (Tab t 0.05 with 17 d.o.f is 1.740). As a result, the Null Hypothesis (H 0) was rejected, and the Alternative Hypothesis (H 1) was accepted. This way, the Speaking assessment training proved productive.

The Indian novel in English evolved in the last hundred and fifty years and has contributed significantly to world literature through the works of prominent authors who have achieved international recognition. Anita Nair, Indian Author, is one of the prominent contemporary writers of Indian English Literature. She typically edges on issues associated with women's liberation due to the rising consciousness of the significance of distinctiveness. The compact with the quandary of the contemporary woman regarding issues similar to feminism, child sexual abuse, isolation, alienation, identity crisis, or just the existential crisis of struggling to be herself. The present research paper attempts to discuss the social construct of women in an Indian social orthodox scenario in the novel Ladies Coupe. The main character is Akhilandeshwari. She relates her story in fragments while listening to the experiences of the other five ladies in the compartment, trying to find a solution to the dilemma that has troubled her entire life: "Can a woman be happy without a man, or does she need a man to feel complete?" The author uses the literary device of "flashback". The story jumps back and forth between the past and the present, showing us glimpses of women who are humiliated and debased in addition to the five women in the compartment.

His novels contain 'black humour' which is a form of humour that presents sorrows and sufferings as very mean or that regards human existence as ironic and pointless but somehow comic. 'Black humour' is also called 'Black Comedy' or 'Dark Humour', and the idea that people are powerless victims of fate and character is frequently used to illustrate farce and low humour. The novelist uses humour to reflect the realistic picture of contemporary society. Humour can be more successful in one's native language. Though the novelist writes in English, he uses very simple language which seems to be one's own native tongue. The present paper is an attempt to explore humorous elements in Chetan Bhagat's most recent two novels, 'The Girl in Room 105' and 'One Arranged Murder', with special reference to black humour and satire.

His writings fluctuate between a sense of psychological crisis triggered by collapse of colonization towards the midst Twentieth century and the meaning of a free man. In other words, his writings look at what does it take to be a free man in a decolonized world; whether this freedom is achieved at the cost of the crisis or within the crisis, or whether the crisis itself is a part of the freedom. However, the understanding of the answer to these questions in his readers seems to be very limiting. The sense of the crisis and the freedom in him has been understood as something narrowing and damaging. However, this can be contested and the sense of crisis, its cause and affect can be best understood with a point of reference to the idea of "irresponsibility" and "contamination" in Jacques Derrida and Gayatri Spivak. His discourse is a meditation on several world contexts-Indian, European, African and Caribbean for instance. This paper contends to say and establish that the sense of crisis in Naipaul as far as his writings on the Caribbean context are concerned, is not damaging, rather it is an enabling phenomenon ensuring a sense of freedom.

Naipaul's works, both fiction and trip memoirs on the postcolonial sociocultural milieu of Africa, for being racially objectionable. The indictment apparently has a rationale too in the sense that his writings-In a Free State (1971), A Band in the River (1979) and Masque of Africa for instance-outright seem to be intestinal butchery of the African life, past and present, without any sense of mercy. However, he has countered all the critics often to defend his writings. In fact, this stand of Naipaul on his writings prompts this paper for a scrutiny and apparently, it seems that, as it will be explored, his defense stands; he has seen "much" about Africa, its future. Paradoxically, in his internal butchery he is neither "anti-African" nor "anti-Negro." His African discourse, though supposed to be they do not have any such offensive, butchery agenda in nature, rather seems to have a tendency of seeing "much" future possibilities in the postcolonial paradox with a spiral into its past. Although the African post-colonial paradox is colonial, he also understands it as a part of another form of ups and downs in the history of African civilization. This is more apparent in his writings and more perceptible in the context of the postcolonial viewpoint on displacement and dislocation. Postcolonial discourse usually emphasizes a crisis in its perspectives. However, for Naipaul, they are also, just like every other civilization, the nature of the history of the African civilization. It is in this understanding, being explored, he sees "much" possibilities, an enabling phenomenon, rather than a crisis in the African paradox.

He was born in Trinidad in 1932, had roots in India, migrated to England for higher studies and took British citizenship. He died as a British citizen in 2018. His writings distinguish themselves in having a wider coverage of the postcolonial world, like the trajectory of his life, and accordingly larger experience with the problems of this world. In the same line, he has a world readership. However, the greater part of this readership sees him as a colonial and offensive writer rather than voicing their issues and suggesting solutions to them. However, the discourse of Naipaul, as it evolves in the texts like Half a Life and Magic Seeds, being explored in this paper, is quite different and tends to have a counter-discourse to such views; it is neither colonial nor offensive. It can be seen pointing to larger future possibilities beyond the crisis of the postcolonial world and this can be understood in the light of the terms like historical sensibility, mimicry, rupture and bildungsroman.

Naipaul, have been more criticized than critiqued. This tends to put his creative aspiration in oblivion and initiate a discourse that is quite personal, subjective, and degenerative in nature. This paper using the idea of “Naipaulexity’ and “Theory Renaissance” as elaborated below and adopting a deconstructive model of analysis of four of his fictions as examples, contends that a prolific writer like Naipaul has suffered the offense of a judgmental, critical fallacy, in its conventional readership and therefore it needs a serious scrutiny. It aims to arrive at this contention through the analysis of four of his fictions, demonstrating how there evolves a counter-discourse from his texts that virtually underscores the myopic conventional criticism. Naipaulian texts are dense and thick, and accordingly demand a similar approach to their understanding.

However, the research on vocabulary in recent years gradually diminishes as students age and get to higher education. Many researchers recommended the effective use of digital tools to motivate students to participate actively in learning, and digital gamification made quite an impact by creating student interest in word learning. Therefore, this study primarily identified the need for improving the students' English vocabulary through blended learning by incorporating Quizizz for gamification during the students' practice tests, secondarily, the need for precluding students' malpractice through Google forms with AutoProctor during their assessment tests for their genuine vocabulary learning. This study was carried out based on quantitative research by collecting and analysing numerical data of the control and experimental groups and also through a closed-ended questionnaire using a Likert Scale. The findings demonstrated that this research culminated in a subtle difference in the two groups; the control and experimental groups that pursued the traditional and blended methods. The Pooled Standard Deviation statistically demonstrated that it had deviated from the control group's Standard Deviation by 0.286 and the experimental group's Standard Deviation by 0.2. This weighted average vindicated the study that the experimental group could perform better than the control group in the post-test.

Three different types of groups are considered viz., tribal and nontribal, boys and girls, and rural and urban from different secondary and higher schools of BTR. Mahalanobis Distance (MD) is used to calculate the difference in dynamical nature of achievement between two groups of students in four subjects. The result revealed that there is no significant difference between boys and girls; students from tribal and nontribal communities, students belonging to the rural and urban schools, tribal boys and nontribal boys, and tribal girls and nontribal girls in the dynamical character of achievement of different groups are taken into account.

At the same time, it is also found from the study that although there is no significant difference in spelling ability of elementary school children in relation to their gender and medium of instruction, there is a significant difference in spelling ability in relation to their type of school management, that is, govt. and non-govt. schools. As it is evident that although the spelling ability is normally distributed, but there is difference of spelling ability between govt. and non-govt. schoolchildren and govt. managed schools should give greater importance to this attribute. The govt. managed schools should train English language teachers more effectively and design activities for learning and practising English spelling in English classrooms and homes. The schools may also arrange different type of competition like ‘Spelling Bee’ for the improvement of spelling of students of the govt. managed schools. Writing is an important aspect of communication in human life, and correct spelling is of utmost importance in writing. Therefore, the govt. managed schools should take measures to improve the spelling ability of children.

The main form of the medieval drama was religious and they were popularly known as the mysterious plays, miracle plays and morality plays mostly portrayed biblical story or account of the life of a saint or the dramatization of the abstract states. During the later part of the same medieval period, Sankardevathe great preacher of Vaisnavism in Assamhad composed religious and moral plays known as Ankiya Nat (one-act play) based on the epics or the Puranas. The main purpose of these plays was to instil into the hearts of the audience the message of ‗bhakti' (loving devotion to God). The present paper is an attempt to explore the similarities of the Ankiya Nats with that of the medieval European dramas. The study shows that the Ankiya plays of Assam and the medieval plays of the West reveal some identical features despite the immense difference of space.

There are five categories of groupings taken into account such as students under tribal and non-tribal backgrounds, boys and girls, urban and rural, urban boys and rural boys, urban girls and rural girls. In five disciplines, the MD is employed to compute the variance in the dynamical nature of attainment between two sections of learners. Despite the fact that urban students received better conditions than rural students, there is no substantial distinction in the dynamical character regarding attainment between urban and rural learners. Similar findings are reported for urban boys and rural boys, as well as urban girls and rural girls. It is also found that there is no statistically substantial variation between tribal and non-tribal students, and between boys and girls.

A lot of empirical research so far has examined the applicability of scaffolding in acquiring writing skills; however, few of them have studied the motivational aspect of scaffolding and its impact on the acquisition of writing skills of English as foreign language (EFL) learners. This study argues both motivational and demotivational factors with respect to scaffolding. During this study, the learner's Zone of Proximal Development (ZPD) in accordance with Vygotsky's principles shall also be studied to determine whether the learners in the process of writing are following teacher's implicit instructions and teachers are dealing appropriately with the deployment of scaffolding techniques. References shall be drawn from the findings of Nunan (1991) who felt a positive feedback functions as an incentive to students and fairly motivates them and those of Ellis (2008; 2010; 2012; 2013) who apprehended that a negative feedback may be "potentially dangerous" to students and can damage their receptivity to learning. The findings of the study bear evidence of how the teachers, as well as the learners, follow similar patterns in understanding the scaffolding technique in the acquisition of writing skills.
