This paper discusses the input-series output-parallel (ISOP) flyback-type micro-inverter which is... more This paper discusses the input-series output-parallel (ISOP) flyback-type micro-inverter which is implemented for AC photovoltaic module to achieved higher voltage input and output current rating. The main features of this micro inverter include a stable current injection, lower level harmonic distortion, potentially lightweight and lower cost. Additionally, as the inverter is mounted in a single PV module, the inverter may harvest maximum power when partial shading occurs. However, since the two flyback-inverters are connected in series/parallel, there should be a proper control strategy for each inverter to obtain optimum performance. The strategy to control the inverters is based on a power-sharing loop using the droop method. Several experiments and simulations are carried out to examine the design and the results show the effectiveness of the proposed control strategy.

A simple inverted F antenna (IFA) with parasitic elements on a finite conducting plane proposed a... more A simple inverted F antenna (IFA) with parasitic elements on a finite conducting plane proposed and its characteristics are numerically analyzed for UHF and SHF channel applications. In this research, to obtain resonance frequencies for the multiband operation purposes, the main IFA and parasitic elements were investigated. More frequency bands obtained when the parasitic element placed beneath adjusted to the main IFA. The electromagnetic simulator WIPL-D based on Method of Moment used for numerical analysis. The performance of IFA extremely affected by the distance between the main horizontal element and the parasitic element. It found that the parasitic element coupled with the current on the conducting plane when the parasitic element located closer to the conducting plane. Consequently, the return loss bandwidth becomes narrower and the gain becomes a bit higher. The gain of the antenna is about 8.21 dB at band #3 (λ1.747), 7.43 dB at band #5 (λ2.967) and 8.82 dB at band #6 (λ4.023). The UHF and SHF channel receivers obtained from the calculation results. The proposed IFA are suitable for advanced wireless service (band #3), mobile phones, Bluetooth, maritime service, radiolocation service (band #5) and radars, mobile phones, commercial wireless LAN (band #6).

Most of the world’s Electric Grids operate on fossil fuels which are getting thinner and expected to run out soon, the best solution that is possible to do is Smart Grid. The Smart Grid realized extensive use of information sensing, transmission and processing. Today, IoT technology become a essential role in construction of power grid. This paper reviews the Integration of IoT in Smart Grids. IoT-integrated Smart Grid systems are already deployed, but the full capabilities of instant knowledge and sustainable large-scale data processing have not been exploited optimally. Two of the architectures of IoT integrated Smart Grids is four-layered architecture and Web Enabled Smart Grid. To process and manage the Big Data in Smart Grid, Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system can be used and furthermore enhanced with cloud computing. The smart grid is the future of electric grid that solves the problems of information flows, rising energy consumption, energy waste, reliability and security in the conventional power grid.

The majority of bumiaji villagers work as farmers. PKM in activities aim to help farmers in terms of increasing income and diverse agricultural produce on partner land. Currently the partner has about 800 m2 of land that is used for citrus cultivation. Because the old citrus harvest process is about 4-5 months, the partner needs additional income in addition to citrus cultivation. The training conducted by the PKM team is: (1) the introduction of hydroponic system knowledge; (2) training to grow vegetables with hydroponic system. By knowing and knowing the hydroponic system farmers / partners can develop hydroponic systems for various organic vegetables in the rest of the land, so that the results obtained are diverse and increase the income of partners.

The problem is also referred to absolute orientation. Current developed algorithms for determining rigid transformation rely on factorisation of matrices, for instance, singular value decomposition or eigenvalue and eigenvector. This technique is relatively computationally expensive, thus it may be a burden on low-end hardware when the absolute orientation needs to be computed continuously. This work presents a closed-form solution to the least squares problem focussing on three or more pairs of point vector in 2D space. The proposed algorithm has also considered the scaling factor as a part of the rigid transformation. The simulation results shows the effectiveness and the numerical accuracy of the proposed method.

In order to realize a web server, the raspberry pi is needed as the low power consume device. In this study, monitoring system a local network based on the IoT technology (Internet of Things) where an object has the ability to send data over the network without requiring human-to-human or human interaction to the computer. Raspberry pi is used as a web server and is installed by Motion eye as a web interface that is integrated with a webcam that functions as a sensor. Furthermore, the client monitor in the room through the web browser by streaming with define the URL according to the IP address obtained by the raspberry pi from the server. The observations of the systems have been addressed on the number users, number of frames per second and the resolution of the object related to the delay, the throughput, the delay and the CPU performance. The simulations have been defined when the number of user 30 and 70, the resolution of the object was 320 x 176, 320 x 240, 640 x 480 and 1024 x 786, the number of frames per second were 10 fps, 20 fps and 30 fps. The results show that IoT technology have possibility to be implemented for CCTV monitoring using Raspberry Pi. The examining on the CPU usage shows that higher both the resolution and fps on the video results affect the CPU usage performances. However, the video quality becomes better.

A cart inverted pendulum system is one of the most common case to be considered for testing many ... more A cart inverted pendulum system is one of the most common case to be considered for testing many control algorithms, since it has some challenging problems associated with non linearity, complexity and underactuated system model. In fact, non-linearity behaviour of the inverted pendulum can be observed easily. Different pendulum angle response can be obtained by giving the same velocity in the cart. The cart inverted pendulum can be understood as an under actuated system since the system has a lower number of actuator than the degrees of freedom. One of the most convenient method to model the inverted pendulum system is to use Lagrange's equation. However, at present, many presented inverted pendulum models have been derived using simplified physical model. This simplified model may lead to problems for the implementation of the control algorithm in a real physical inverted pendulum system. In this paper, an inverted pendulum system model is presented, where a mechanical transmission system and a motor models have been included in the derivation of the inverted pendulum model. Hence, the problems for the control implementation in a real system can be minimized. The mathematical model of the inverted pendulum was derived using Lagrange's equation. The determination of the pole zero of the system is discussed. A simple method of pole placement is proposed to stabilise the pendulum at the desired position of the cart. Matlab simulation results show the effectiveness of the proposed method. And yet, this intuitive approach can lead to better understanding of the control behaviours.

This research proposed the identification of chicken freshness level based on its color and textu... more This research proposed the identification of chicken freshness level based on its color and texture features. Color Features used are the RGB (Red, Green, and Blue) and HSV (Hue, Saturation, Value) channel histogram value. texture features used are GLCM (Grey Level Co-Occurrence Matrix), Gabor kernel, and HOG (Histogram of Oriented Gradients). The freshness level of a chicken meat is categorized into three labels, fresh (0-4 hours after slaughtered), medium-fresh (4-6 hours after slaughtered), and not-fresh (more than 6 hours after slaughtered). The experiments will identify the freshness using several classification methods and different camera resolution and magnification. The highest classification accuracy using SVM (Support Vector Machines) achieves 58,33% with a smartphone camera, 98% with a webcam camera, and 79.1% with a 200 magnification digital microscope. From the experiment results, we can conclude that using webcam camera with normal resolution have better classification accuracy compared with a 200 magnification digital microscope or standard smartphone camera. It is also shown that SVM is superior compared with other methods tested in this experiments which are Decision Tree and Naive Bayes.

This paper presents a new implementation of flyback-type inverter to optimize power flow from sol... more This paper presents a new implementation of flyback-type inverter to optimize power flow from solar PV (photovoltaic) system. The flyback-type inverter used is Shimizu topology. The main features of this inverter type include: extended lifetime of the inverter, provide small volume, lightweight, lower harmonic content and stable AC current injection into the load or utility line. Three controllers used comprise non-MPPT, conventional Incremental Conductance (IC) and IC+PID method. To verify the effectiveness of the inverter design, such methods are examined with different irradiance conditions. The results show that the Shimizu flyback-type inverter exhibits considerable optimum performance and can harvest a good maximum power under different irradiance conditions. The results also indicate that the IC+PID method gives less harmonic distortion.

This study is aimed to test students' competence using the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) framework. It tests the effect of perceived usefulness (PU) and perceived ease of use (PEU) on behavior intention to use (BIU) and student' competence. The data used is a primary data that was collected by distributing questionnaire to 128 students who use e-learning. The samples were selected using the convenience sampling method. The data obtained was evaluate both by reliability and validity tests, while the hypothesis was tested using multiple regression. The result shows that PU and PEU have significant effect on BIU, and furthermore BIU has significant effect on student' competence (cognitive, affective, and psychomotor). It provides theoretical contribution that technology utilization can improve student' competence.

This paper presents a kinematic control algorithm development for a four-omni-wheeled robot such ... more This paper presents a kinematic control algorithm development for a four-omni-wheeled robot such that the robot pose’s error decreases exponentially. A PID control scheme was used to regulate the angular speed of DC motors. Simulation experiments have been carried out to verify the mobile robot motion and the proposed control performances. This simulation would give a good initial robot and control design before realizing a real time robot controller. The results obtained through the simulation program elucidate that the robot is able to reach the specified static target and direction towards the robot in less than 6 seconds with the value of every RMSE below 0.01. These results also reveal that the proposed PID control can be utilized to make the robot moves smoothly as planned. The graphical form is employed to present the results of response, trajectory, and the changes in error values.

Mortality due to chronic kidney disease (CKD) increases significantly in a recent year. The disea... more Mortality due to chronic kidney disease (CKD) increases significantly in a recent year. The disease often is diagnosed in an advanced stage. On the other hand, there has been traditional Chinese method or technique to diagnose the presence of the CKD. The diagnosis is carried out by examining pulse palpation at three points namely cun, guan and chi located at the radial artery of the left hand. Records of the pulse pattern of the CKD patients showed irregular characteristics compared with regular pattern obtained from healthy subjects. The aim of this study was to determine the relationship between the frequency spectrum of the irregular pulses related to the stages of the CKD especially from the chi area. Data of the irregular pulse were categorized into 6 stages i.e. 1, 2, 3a, 3b, 4, and 5 of the CKD patients. The data were collected by measuring pressure during systolic periods or when blood vessels were in a relaxed state. In this period, the instrumentation records reflections of the pulse including information about the amplitudes, frequencies, and pulse wave patterns. Observations were focused on the part of the signal between low and high amplitude on pulse patterns (systolic period). The irregular patterns were processed by a Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) technique to find out their special characteristics quantitatively. Results showed that the pattern irregularity was related to the severity of the kidney dysfunction. The FFT processing results showed a number of different special characters in the spectrum. The data were clustered related to the CKD stages. The clustered data of the CKD patients indicates a correlation between the stages and the shifting of the spectrum to lower frequencies which are 0.26 Hz compared to health subject's data 1.11 Hz.
