And now for your inspiration which I'm sure you'll agree is fabulous and just what you need to get those creative juices flowing!

Fabiola- I love sewing on my cards, this time around for my project I have done some faux stitch behind the awesome image. The image is Summer Thank you by Emma Canning. The sentiment is from the Pretty Sweet CD Mini Collection which is an awesome collection. The papers are from the Studio 12 Picknix Collection CD , and I went for a vintage look.

NJ Hello lovelies, well this is a first for me, I have a sewing machine that has been gathering dust for years and this is the first time I have used it on a card. I have used the Pretty Sweet CD. I stitched a border around both the backing papers and coloured the image in using Promarkers. The flowers are Polkadoodles Bloomers.

Nelly - Happy Friday everyone, my brother popped round and borrowed my sewing machine so not one for giving up I got my fine liner pens out to create faux stitching around the image topper by Emma Canning and can be purchased HERE she is called "Millies Birthday" and its coloured with Tim Holz Distress Pens The sentiment is a circle stamp that was released in the first edition of Pen and paper circle club and I simply cut away the centre and matt and layered onto card stock. The fab u lush flowers are also from Polka doodles and can also be purchased HERE! the design paper was taken from the Wonderland CD rom

Lou: Happy "Bank Holiday Weekend" everyone .... or for those of us in the UK! I have used the other half of the "Mistletoe Moment" image from Emma Canning as I wanted to give him centre stage. Just adore his pose holding the mistletoe ... aaahhhh! Image coloured with Promarkers. I didn't have any green card for my background and then remembered that the "Not for Girls" CD has a great selection of Bazzill inspired plain designs, so I printed the green I wanted, embossed with a Timmy folder. I cut out my own hearts and layered some of the embossed elements on the heart. Recreated some mistletoe and used STITCHED ribbon to dangle all my bits.

Claire (Happy Days) - Good morning folks. For my card this week I've used Emma Canning's stunning Angel who has been coloured with Promarkers and Sakura Gel Pens. I've faux stitched the edges of all of my papers with a gold glitter pen. The gorgeous purple paper is from the Sugarplum Daisy CD and the lilac paper is from the Candy Doodles CD which has been embossed before swiping with DI. To finish I've used Doodle Dewdrops (I bought the clear ones and applied some gold paint to the base of them - I'm really pleased as the gold shows through brilliantly but doesn't look flat or dull).

Kitty - Morning everyone! So for the challenge I decided to make a tag for a change! The image is of course one of the fabby new Emma Canning Images, this one is All Lit Up - my fav one! All the papers I used are from the latest CD Rom - Here Comes Christmas - it really is cram packed full of yummyness!

JAN: I chose to stitch around all the matting and layering on my project, which gives an extra dimensional feel to the card. I have used three different background papers from the Candy Doodles CD and also die-cut a sentiment from the same CD. I used three of Emma Canning's gorgeous girls and layered them together to make a 'friends' theme, before colouring them with my Promarkers. A variety of embellishments finish off the card.

Shell- How typical is this, I chose this weeks challenge so I could use my sewing machine and I couldn't get it to work, so I had to do some faux stitching instead...For my card this week I have used the Studio 12 CD and the in the garden collection. The image has been coloured with copics and the sentiment is computer generated.

Claire: I dusted off my needle and thread this week to create my tag with the very lovely Millies Birthday image. Paper and flower from the studio 12 Cd. A little french knot attaches Millie to the tag at her waist.

Emma: I made quite a simple card for the challenge using paper from the Pretty Sweet CD and a sentiment from the Sugar Birdies Collectors Edition. I distressed the edges of the sentiment and added faux stitching with a Sakura gel pen.

Fliss: I had to cheat a little for my inspiration this week as my mojo seems to have been left behind since I got back from my hols lol. This is a card I made with elements and papers from the gorgeous new Here Comes Christmas CD. I coloured the angel with Promarkers and added layers to my card with hessian for texture. I used a piercing tool and brown fine pen to create faux stitching on the background paper and die cut heart.

You have until 12 noon on Sunday 2 September to enter and good luck!

Now here are the Design Teams' creations which you will see celebrate a large variety of occasions - a very versatile challenge!

Fabiola- For this celebration I have made a birthday card. I used papers, image, and sentiment from the Pretty Sweet CD-rom mini collection. Plain and metallic papers are from my stash.
Fliss - My celebration card features the gorgeous Millie Birthday digital image by Emma Canning coloured with a mix of Promarkers and Prismacolor pencils, die cut to shape and inked round the edges. The mat is from the Sugarplum Daisy CD as is the sentiment which I die cut and coloured with Promarkers. The backing paper is part of the PPC3 Kit, the flowers from Sundae of Seasons CD coloured with Promarkers and the lace border is from the Studio 12 Picknix Collection 1 CD - doesn't it all fit well together!
Katrina - Hi everyone, my first ever blog post and card for Polkadoodles! I used papers and one of the girls from Pretty Sweet, together with my favourite heart paper from the Wonderland CD. I'm new to cardmaking so I struggled a bit with how to get going but I'm really pleased with the final result (and I get to steal all Nikky's stash when she's not looking!) Hope you like it too and please pop over to my blog to follow my escapades working in the office with Nikky and Kris and the rest of the DT!
Nelly - To celebrate a special Birthday in the family I used the Not For Girls, definitely for men CD and decoupaged the bottle template also using the wine bottle labels for the main focal point to my card, the design papers are also taken from this CD. I used "Wade" from the Pretty Tuff CD and actually used my Tim Holz Distress markers to colour this image for the first time, maybe a little more practice required, but overall I was pretty happy with the result hee hee.
NJ Hello lovelies, I wanted to celebrate how well we are doing at the Olympics. My card is a 'Well Done Team GB' Celebration. I have used Sundae of Seasons CD for this, I cut out the lanterns and threaded them with ribbon and embellished with London themed buttons. I also used a gold, silver and bronze candy to represent the medals we have won!
Lou: I've cheated a little as my celebration is "Christmas". I have used one of the new Emma Canning images for my card; "Mistletoe Moment", although I have been a little cheeky and split the couple up! I have used the girl by herself for my card, coloured with promarkers and the papers are from the new "Here comes Christmas" CD.The glittery bits are from some leaves I found in a sale in January and knew they would come in handy! Red gems are those lush "Doodle Dew Drops".
Shell- For my celebration card I've made a 21st birthday card for a friends daughter. I have used papers from the Pretty Sweet CD and the image is from the Candy Doodles Collectors Edition I think the tags are also from candy doodles cd, the flowers are a marianne creatables die LR0163  I have distressed everything with Shabby Shutters distress ink.

Claire I decided to celebrate all that's really scarey...lol. Don't you just love Franky from the fabulous Polly witchydoodles download bundle. A great fun stepper card.

Claire (Happy Days) - I've chosen to celebrate Christmas this week with this stepper card which has been created using the new Here Comes Christmas CD.
So there you have it, some fabulous projects all bound to inspire you and we can't wait to see your entries.
You have until 12 noon on Sunday 19 August to add your creations.

So, onto this week's challenge! You'll notice that quite a few of the Design Team have used the same cute image - Taylor - Camping Day by Emma Canning but look how different she looks on each of the cards showing just how much fun you can have with these gorgeous images and there are loads more to choose from and we are about to add some more to the range! Emma's designs are exclusive to us at Polkadoodles and are proving a huge hit!
Our theme for this week is Summer and just look at the inspiration to see just how many ways that there are to interpret this. We also have the fabulous first prize of a Studio 12 Picknix Collection 1 CD so what are you waiting for!

NJ - For my Summer card I chose to use the Candy Doodles Collectors Edition CD. I used the cupcake from the cd. The digi is by Emma Canning and it is Millie Birthday. I have also used a Marianne Design Die LR0118. The pink swirls I made using fimo to look like swirly candy!
Fabiola - For this Summer project, I've made a card, using Emma Canning digital stamp Taylor Camping Day. I also used a variety of papers from the PPC 3 Kit, and kraft paper from my stash. The flowers are from my stash and also the bling. I coloured my image with Copic markers.
Nelly - Happy Friday to all, and yes its midsummer! ... isn't it? For my card I have taken the Sunflower image from The Sundae of Season's CD and coloured them with my trusted Promarker pens ...I incorporated this fab u lush image from the designer EMMA CANNING called "Summer Thank you" isn't she just Gorgeous!! again I coloured her using Promarkers, the leaf die is from MARIANNE DESIGNS .... flowers embellishments can be found HERE ...trimmed up with glitter and butterfly and ladybird embellies border lends to a perfect British summer looking day don't you think ?
Patty: For my card, I used the lovely Summer from Emma Canning images, and some of left over papers that were on my desk (that I 'm trying to use up!), added the border and the sentiment and voila!!! my card is done.  I love clean & simple cards in which the image is the attraction..and this is a good example.
JAN: My summer themed card uses gorgeous pastel papers from the 'Sundae of Seasons' CD, together with a fab little flower image from the same CD. The main image is an 'Emma Canning' design and she is very aptly called 'Summer' and has been coloured with my Promarkers.  A collection of flowers accent the corner of the image and are enhanced with my favourite Marianne leaf die (LR0226).  I also used a Marianne die (LR0191) to display the sentiment (which is from the latest Pen & Paper Circle stamp set).1) to display the sentiment (which is from the latest Pen & Paper Circle stamp set).
Claire (Happy Days) - I've gone all retro today and used Taylor "Camping Day" for my easel card. The papers are from the All Around & Everywhere CD and the flowers are from the Sundae of Seasons. I used my computer to generate the sentiment before over printing the patterned paper.
Kitty - Instead of bright summer colours I thought I would try soft muted tones for my card. The image is of course Taylor 'Camping Day'. The papers are from Sundae Of Seasons and the sentiment is from Sugarplum Daisy CD.
Claire - I too have used the lovely Taylor camping day image perfect for a scottish summer! Combining it with elements from the Picknix 1 Studio 12 cd.
Emma - This week I have used the fab little bee from the Sugar Plum Daisy collection (My Fave) to make a summery exploding box.
Shell- For my card I have used the fabulous image from Emma Canning she is called Summer and I thought she was perfect for this challenge, the papers and the ticket sentiment are from the Sugar Plum Daisy CD  The huge flowers has been made with a die and the edges have been distressed and scrunched.
Lou - For my summer card I've also used the cute Taylor Camping Day image and have coloured her up then cut her out and added her to an acetate panel along with the text and kite I made. The background uses a paper and several of the embellies from Heavenly Garden kit on the Studio 12 Picknix Collection 1 CD.
Fliss - To me, nothing says summer more than the beach, so although I too have used the Taylor Camping Day image, her brolly is a parasol and the wellies for wading in rock pools lol. I've made a shaped card with a large die and then added a matching shaped frame. I've used papers and a sentiment from the Sugarplum Daisy CD, added beach huts and ice cream from the Sundae of Seasons CD and bunting from the Studio 12 Picknix Collection 1 CD. Colouring is done with Aquamarkers and Prisma pencils.
Nikky...I love Emma's digi designs! I chose this one because I thought the girls would all choose others haha, shows just how wrong you can be! I decided to go all flowery and choose some nice bright colours to portray that summery feel...

We're looking forward to seeing your entries and please don't forget to check the rules to make sure your entry fits the challenge and requirements.

Now for the challenge part which is to make a creation (whatever you like as you'll see some of the team have made something other than a card), using the colours Red, White and Blue plus something that denotes British for our Olympics - you can see the Design Team has gone very patriotic!

Ruth: I've altered a brown takeout bag with the Britannia download kit that was a freebie on our Facebook page and used various dies - X Cut and Sizzix plus a little bow of red organza ribbon!  I gave this to my cousin who has just moved to Germany with her husband - there was a tea towel inside (very British!)

Claire - I decided that I'd make a little door hanger for my daughters bedroom using the fabulous Millie Bedtime from Emma Canning and the Britannia Kit (Nikky kindly gave it away as a freebie on our Polka Doodle Dandies Facebook page) - after all you don't get anything more British than the Union Flag (well apart from a nice cuppa tea!!). Also I'm sure if sleeping was a sport that my DD would win hands down!

Fabiola- I made a card as my creation. I used the gorgeous Millie Birthday from Emma Canning, I thought what better way to celebrate than with balloons, right? I also used the Britannia Kit. I loved and had so much fun making this project!!!

Nelly - Couldn't resist using circles as the main focal part of this card using Nestabilitie circle dies, I have cut images from The Pretty Tuff and Pretty sweet Cd's and design papers also from the cd collection and Polka Doodle Dandies Britannia collection.

Fliss - My card for this week is a celebration one as I love Emma's really cute Paige "I Love You" digi. I've coloured her with Promarkers adding a little pencil for detail then die cut into an oval and inked the edges. I've made a very layered card using background paper and Union Jack heart from the Britannia Kit, hearts from the new Studio 12 Picknix Collection 1 CD embossed with crystal powder for sparkle and a sentiment ticket from the Sugarplum Daisy CD.

Shell- For my very British card I just had to do a football themed one. I have used the Footballer and football's from the Pretty Tuff CD. I still think David Beckham should be in team GB lol

Kitty - For my card i used the gorgeous Emma Canning Mille Birthday, isn't she cute? Love her!
I also used the Britannia Kit, kept the design simple to show off the lovely papers!

JAN:  I made a scrapbook page for this week's challenge to record some 'Olympic' facts.  The papers are from the 'Britannia Collection' designed by Nikky Hall. I chose an image from the 'Sugar Plum Daisy' CD as a focal point, instead of a photo and added a little union flag in her hand (also from the 'Britannia Collection').  She is coloured with Promarkers and her t-shirt is paper pieced with a scrap of union flag paper.  The lettering was created on my pc and cut out of paper scraps left over from the background.  I cut five circles (to represent the five Olympic rings) and added an Olympic fact to each one before matting them on co-ordinating scalloped circles.

Claire I think we are all loving those lovely Emma Canning digi stamps this week. I have used Millies Birthday image available from the Polka Doodles store. Also incorporated the Britannia collection from Nikky to create my twisted easel card. Just a little doodled border with stickles and a lovely red velvet brad.

NJ Hello my lovelies, well the excitement is mounting for the Olympics! I have chosen to make a card using the Not For Girls CD. I used various sporting elements from the CD to show the different sports. I made a medal using red, white and blue ribbons and a brass button!

Lou: Well I seem to be copying NJ and I promise we didn't "liaise" ... lol. I have used only 2 papers and 1 topper sheet from the Not For Girls CD from the boxing section. The gloves and sentiment have been glazed to add further dimension and the stars were cut using a sizzlets die.

Clare - For my easel card I used the gorgeous Paige Wedding Day digi by Emma Canning and the Britannia kit from Nikky to paper piece Paige's dress and to use for my backing papers.

Patty - For my card I used Kiddo on bike from Pretty Tuff collection on a plain white base add a layer on red and on top a layer of blue both bordered, and the ribbon in between the layer tied a double bow with white and red and on top of the layers a added the images and the sentiment bordered with some blue and red stars.

Emma - I did a digital card this time using the Britannia kit and all elements bar the central badge are Polkadoodles.

Hope you enjoyed the inspiration and we can't wait to see your entries and meet you in the hop.  You have until 12 noon on Sunday 22 July to participate. Good luck and please note that you MUST do the HOP to be eligible for a prize!

You have until noon (GMT) on Sunday 8 July to enter so make sure you get your entries in to be in with a chance of winning this fab prize!

Now I'm sure you all want the challenge details. Your hostess with the mostest this week is Emma and her chosen theme is Fairies, Fantasy and Flitter which she says means that she would like to see a fantasy theme or a fairy flittered with a magical dusting of glitter - how about that for a fab theme!

Here's some gorgeous inspiration from the Polka Doodles Teamies:

Norine: I loved getting all fussy and fancy with this week's fairy challenge!! Paper and image are both from the yummy Sugar Plum Daisy cd. I painted Stickles on the wings and then added some Martha Stewart glitter as well. To complete the card I added a paper doily and made up a little bouquet of miscellaneous paper flowers and ribbon I had in my stash!

Fliss: I've made an easel card for the challenge this time and have turned one of the cute little girls from the Pretty Sweet CD into a fairy. I printed out both her and some of the lovely toadstools from the Sugarplum Daisy CD on cartridge paper and coloured with my fave Aquamarkers. I added a little texture with pencils. I made the fairy wings using a Marianne Design butterfly die which I coloured and glittered. The card was assembled with lots of layers as you see and embellished with a glittered butterfly from the Sugarplum CD.

Nelly Hello everyone, well I'm back crafting after a short spell away and I certainly missed my postings and crafting, loved making this circle side stepper easel card using elements from the Sugar Plum Daisy CD I absolutely love the moon on this CD, image is coloured with Pro Markers and the sentiments are also taken from the CD.

JAN: I think most little girls like fairies, so I decided to make a door hanger for a girl's room this week. I used paper and images (toadstool, fairy, butterfly wings and sentiment) which are all from the fantastic 'Sugar Plum Daisy' CD. I chose the ready coloured images this time and simply printed them off and decoupaged them onto my project. The pink flowers are printed from the 'Sugar Birdies' CD and have been embellished with bits and bobs from my own stash. A few Polkadoodle dew drops accent the corners and it wouldn't be fairyland without a sprinkling of stardust glitter!

Shell-I loved making this card, I have used an image, sentiment and papers off the Sugarplum Daisy CD.
She's been coloured with copics and I have covered her wings in glitter, the flowers are from my stash and have been dipped into glitter, then to finish it off I added little drops of glitter as if she is watering the flowers with glitter.

NJ I love fairies, they are one of my favourite things along with butterflies! For my Fairies & Fantasy card I have used an 8x8 card blank and made an aperture. I have used the All Around & Everywhere CD and also the Sundae of Seasons CD. I used Diamond Stickles for sparkle and added Dew Drops.

Claire: I love fairies, so couldn't wait to create something. I've used the fairy and foliage images from the All Around & Everywhere CD and the watering can, window & door (which is the window with the shutters chopped off) from the new Studio 12 Picknix Heavenly Garden Kit to create my stepper card.

Lou: Now I stretched the fairy theme a little with my card this week as I have used one of the gorgeous Christmas fairy (okay .... angel) stamps for my card. I so wanted to use this stamp and she does look fairy like, doesn't she? A simple embossed background which I have inked with distress inks, some ribbon offcut, glittered leaves, paper off cuts from Pretty Sweet CD and  Doodle Dew Drops. The images was stamped with Walnut distress ink and then water coloured with Walnut and Rose Pink distress inks.

We can't wait to see all your entries and please don't forget to check out the rules.
