Elizabeth Dunn on Instagram: "•• One of my favorite displays I've ever worked on, our Rattan Shade turned out beautifully!! ✨️🌿
.
Materials: plywood for structural rings, round reed, half-round reed, flat reed for weaving and natural raffia for binding. The display is constructed in three parts; a central conical shade plus two outer arcs.
.
Completed chandelier/shade measures approximately nine and a half feet across! Fishing line and eye hooks were all that were necessary to hang this surprisingly lightweight display. Elizabeth Crawford on Instagram: "Here is a sneak peak at the kind of basketry I will be teaching during the ‘Landscapes of Making’ residential programme at Embercombe this August 7th-11th! The programme, co-facilitated by myself, @foundandground and @islajmacleod will be rich and varied. During your time weaving with me, you will be introduced to a range of plant materials growing in the beautiful Embercombe valley including yellow flag iris, reed mace and field rush, and from these you will make a small foraging basket like this one! This course is designed to bring you more deeply into relationship and reciprocity with the land, your inner maker, and the wild materials that have been our allies in creativity and survival for millennia. We will journey through practices of harvest, c Reed Basket Weaving Diy, Foraging Basket, Rush Baskets, Nanak Jayanti, Basket Weaving Diy, Guru Nanak, Be Rich, Sneak Peak, The Land
