Here's the view from the back door. It's a merger of 40 photos each of 2 minutes at f2.8 and 100 ISO. A long exposure technique used by astronomers, with the lens wide open to collect as much light as possible (many stars) rather than one long exposure. The down side of this technique is the slightly dotted star trails as I put a short delay between captures to let the sensor cool. I'll have to play a bit more before I get it right.

We started for Leh to Manali drive during afternoon and I was expecting to cross Baralacha La at dark. As conditions were favourable for a beautiful night shot I was waiting for Suraj Tal to capture with stars and galaxy. On arrival at the spot everything was neatly perfect and all I had to do was to capture a long exposure shot of the location.
