Altair and Vega long lost lovers

Tanabata (七夕?, meaning “Evening of the seventh”) is a Japanese star festival, originating from the Chinese Qixi Festival. It celebrates the meeting of the deities Orihime and Hikoboshi (represented by the stars Vega and Altair respectively). According to legend, the Milky Way separates these lovers, and they are allowed to meet only once a year on the seventh day of the seventh lunar month of the lunisolar calendar.

All over the U.S. tonight (June 12, 2016), we have the Summer Triangle, with the lucky star Vega, signifier of some type of artistic talent, the over-achieving star Altair, in the asterism of the eagle, which soars above everything and everyone, and the fighting star Deneb, in the asterism of the Swan, a graceful bird that viciously defends its territory (a star that figured heavily in the life of the Prophet Mohammed and also in the life of American sniper Chris Kyle).
