Blueprints

Hi Joy here today.  I wanted to share with you a super neat die set called Blueprints 4 that I found in the online store at Classy Cards 'n Such. It consists of 9 pieces.   I am so excited about this set and the endless possibilities.  Here is what it looks like

I cut multiples of this die set using the beautiful  Christmas paper called Believe from Authentique and some red card stock and a few pieces of white.  Here is what the results were:

Then I played and played and played with the pieces -- this is an incredible set.  Here are a few of the combinations I came up with in about 2 minutes.  They are not glued down yet because I wanted to play some more before I adhered them to a card base.

The Blueprints 4 die set is going to make my Christmas card making so easy and my cards won't look mass produced.  Classy Cards 'n Such has several different Blueprints die sets  Here is one of my finished cards.
I used the stamp set by JustRite called Noel Christmas Ornaments.  The images were heat embossed using Sparkle 'n Sprinkle's Gold Detail Embossing Powder.  The white pieces of card stock were popped up using Joy Foam Pads and the card was finished by tying some tiny Christmas bells to some gold sparkle twine.  I'll be posting other cards made using Blueprints Die Set 4 soon.

Thanks for looking at my card - have a HAPPY stamping day.

Hello Joy today showing you a card made with supplies from Classy Cards 'n Such.   This is for this week's challenge at Classy Cards 'n Such.  I've started making Christmas cards and this is one of the first ones.
This card used the die set from My Favorite Things called Blueprints 4 -- which I just love!  I used the stamp set call Noel Christmas Ornaments from Just Rite and underneath the peace word I used a little flourish from the Just Rite set called Spring Words.  The little framed sentiments were popped up using Joy Foam Pads.

Now it's your turn to show off what you would do with this challenge.  Go to Beverly's blog, Classy Cards 'n Such blogspot.com and see all the details and to link your card.  You could be the winner of a nice prize.  Why not challenge a friend to make one with you - I often challenge my sister.  We have so much fun chatting about what products and designs we will use.

Repeat Impressions Project of the Week

It's my turn at Repeat Impressions to do a Project of the Week.  I'm hoping to spur your creativity to find new ways to use borders with a few ideas.  Here is a card I made:
I felt like it needed something else so I cut and added a tiny red metallic border which I think made it look more complete.
This caused me think of ways to make borders for my cards and here are a few ways that might help you.

To make a gold or silver metallic border exactly match any metallic embossing you have on a card,

smear embossing ink on a small piece of card stock and heat emboss with gold or silver.  It is then easy to cut this into tiny strips and use them as borders on your card projects.

Another way to get creative with borders is to cut or punch a border out of vellum then emboss the border with your favorite embossing folders.  Here is an example:
I hope these few ideas will spur your creativity in finding new ways to use borders.

Thinking of You at Classy Cards 'n Such

Hi, it's Joy today for Classy Cards 'n Such.  A few weeks ago I did a challenge card with sunflowers stamped on vellum and had a few of the sunflowers left over.  I just didn't have the heart to throw them away, so this is what I did with them.

First thing was to spray some yellow cardstock with a little glimmer mist and dry emboss with the Anna Griffin folder called Matelasse.  The flowers from the Just Rite Stamp set called Botanical Medallions & Banners have been stamped on vellum with versamark, heat embossed with Sparkle and Sprinkle's White Detail Embossing powder, colored with a few copics and fussy cut out.  The scalloped border is from My Favorite Things and called Blueprints 4.   The flower pieces were popped up with Joy Foam Pads on the card base and the stamped Thinking of You sentiment is from Hugs & Kisses Sentiments by JustRite.  Finally a few little clear stones were added.

Thanks for looking at my card.  Have a HAPPY stamping day.

Quilted God Bless You

Joy today, showing you a quilt card made using supplies from Classy Cards 'n Such.  This is one of two posts about using scraps of paper from my favorite paper pad called Lake House by Kaisercraft. here is a picture of a few of the scraps I'll use to make the card.
I just really love these papers and have not wanted to get rid of the small pieces.  Here is the card made from these scraps.
Small squares measuring 1.25 were lined up on the dark brown paper from the Lake House pad.  After lining up the squares it was embossed using the folder from Anna Griffin called Crowned Medallion.  The God Bless You sentiment from Hugs & Kisses by Just Rite was stamped on a die cut from Spellbinders called Vintage Labels Five.  It was popped up with Joy Foam Pads on top of the next size of die from the Vintage Labels Five Die Set.  It was hard to photograph the embossing on the prints, but it looks like a real quilt.  Those Anna Griffin Embossing Folders are amazing!

Off to see what else I can come up with that uses more scraps.  Thanks for looking at my card.  Have a HAPPY stamping day.

Blooming Christmas

Today it's Joy posting a card made with supplies from Classy Cards 'n Such.  The challenge inspiration picture is on the Classy Cards 'n Such blog as well as a few guidelines and some great inspiration from the Design Team.  Here is my card:
This was a quickie card.  The flowers are cut from a Poppystamp Die called Small Blooming Poinsettia with the stamens coated with Art Institute Adhesive and Sparkle 'n Sprinkle's Aztec Gold Glitter.  The little scallop piece is cut using  My Favorite Things' die called Blueprints 4 and then embossed with Dots Embossing Folder by Crafts-Too.  The sentiment is from Christmas Sentiments by Impression Obsession with the solid red and green paper are from  Believe by Authentique  and the paper with the little polka dots is from Holly Bright by Kaisercraft.  I used a few of the Small Joy Foam Pads for the poinsettias.  Before adhering all the components together, used a Mini Ink Blending Tool and a little ink to highlight the edges.

Now - it's your turn to make a card using the inspiration photo found on Classy Cards 'n Such Blog.  You could be the winner of a nice gift from Classy Cards 'n Such.

God Bless You from Classy Cards 'n Such

Hi, Joy here today showing a card I made with supplies from the Classy Cards 'n Such online store.  I have enjoyed using die cuts and putting them together like a puzzle.  For example:
I cut the flower from Poppy Stamps called Cecilia Flower Outline.  I cut one green flower outline to use as a base and cut a yellow and dark orange to fill in the green outline - just like a puzzle.  The sentiment is from a Our Daily Bread Stamp Set called Ornate Frame Sentiments that was stamped on a die cut from Spellbinders called Labels Eighteen.  The sentiment was popped up using Joy Foam Pads.  The little raindrops were added randomly.

Thanks for looking at my card - have a Happy stamping day.

Now here are the details for the number two card:

I used the left over circle from my previous glitter back ground card which used Sparkle 'n Sprinkle Glitters and placed it on a card panel.  The birthday die cut is from the Happy Birthday Background die by Poppystamps.  The Happy is from the stamp set by Just Rite called Hugs & Kisses Sentiments which I embossed using Fine Detailing Embossing Powder by Sparkle 'n Sprinkle.  I added a few sequins and the second of the Two for One cards was finished.  It was a super quick card.

Repeat Impressions Winter Challenge

Hi! Today Patti is a guest Designer for Repeat Impressions and she has challenged us to make a project with a winter theme.  So here goes:
The image is Snow Skating and the sentiment is actually cut from the stamp called Let It Snow Chorus Line.  The snowflake stamp is from Snowflakes.  I actually just used one of the snowflakes from this set.  I colored with copics, cut him out and popped up with foam dots.  The snowflakes were colored with a Wink of Stella pen and a little tiny sequin was glued in the centers.

Now it's your turn, show us your winter card -- and yours could be the randomly picked card and you would get a nice gift certificate from Repeat Impressions.  Just link it at The House That Stamps Built.

Fill the World with a Smile with Classy Cards 'n Such

Hi, Joy today.  I could not have made this card without my favorite Classy Cards 'n Such supplies.  Each one of these elements is my favorite. Haha - I say that about a lot of the supplies I get from them!
The large background die is really - really one of my favorites.  It is an Anna Griffin die, so easy to use and you can get stunning results from them.  This one is called Flourish Medallion, cut out using paper from The Lake House 6x6 paper pad by KaiserCraft.   I stamped the sentiment, small butterfly and the sentiment frame from Black Eye Susan Vintage Labels Five and cut it out with the Spellbinders Vintage Labels Five Die.  The Large Butterfly is from B Line.  I embossed the background card stock with Dots by Crafts Too.  After a quick shading, the two butterflies were cut out and popped up with Small Joy Foam Pads.

As you smile today, remember you are blessing someone.

Thank you for looking at my card.  Have a HAPPY stamping day.

Merry Christmas

Hi, Joy here today.  This week's challenge at Classy Cards 'n Such is to use Christmas Die Cuts.  I'd like to show how you can make your die cuts as little ornaments.   Let's get started.  Here is my card
First from white card stock die cut 4 of the medium ornaments from the Spellbinders die set called 2012 Heirloom Ornaments -- which is on SALE!  If you use the coupon code Joy-10, you will get an additional 10% off -- now that's a deal!

Now cut 8 of the smaller ornament out of white card stock.  Stamp 1 of the medium die cut ornaments with the medium stamp and 2 of the smaller ornaments from JustRite's set called Noel Christmas Ornaments and color with your favorite markers.  I used copics.   Using a small drop of Art Institute Adhesive and spreading with a paint brush glue 4  die cuts to each other ending with the stamped one on top.  You will then have a thick but not heavy paper ornament.  Coat the top colored ornament with an even thin even layer of the Art Institute Adhesive and sprinkle on Sparkle 'n Sprinkle's Crystal Ice Ultra Fine Glitter.  Some gold twine was attached and then the ornaments were put on some of the paper from Authentiques's Tradition Christmas Paper.  I put the year on the back of the ornament.

Why not join the challenge at Classy Cards 'n Such.  You could get a jump on your Christmas cards and maybe win that nice prize!  Just go to the Classy Cards 'n Such blog and look at the details.

Thanks for looking at my card - have a HAPPY stamping day.
