The major determinants of the technology acceptance model (TAM) and consumer value theory are used to explore their impact on buying attitudes toward behavior. Design/methodology/approach-In this study, a model has been conceptualized to examine the influence of hedonic and utilitarian motivational values along with perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use on actual buying behavior under pandemic conditions. A structured questionnaire has been prepared for an online survey, and data have been collected from 395 online shoppers. The structural equation modeling technique has been applied to analyze the data using SPSS and SmartPLS 3 software. Findings-The results of this study support that perceived enjoyment and utilitarian attributes (price, convenience and health aspects) positively affect online buying attitudes along with perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use. Finally, online buying behavior is significantly influenced by the positive attitude of consumers. Research limitations/implications-The findings of this study may contribute to developing marketing strategies that may attract buyers toward a new business orientation with prosperous supreme features in the future. The emergence of the COVID-19 pandemic has changed the existing behavioral patterns of consumers and opened a new opportunity for marketers. Practical implications-Young consumers are a larger section, and deep knowledge about youngsters may direct marketers toward appropriate use of marketing tools and strategies in the future. Originality/value-This study integrated the TAM with hedonic and utilitarian motivational predictors to measure their impact on consumers' online buying behavior.

E-learning not only enhances learning quality, but it has also become the only medium of learning during the COVID-19 pandemic, when people have been forced to stay at home. Due to the pandemic, most countries have initiated online learning to continue the learning process, thus lessening the study gap. Against this backdrop, it is imperative to explore the perception and satisfaction level of e-learners regarding e-learning tools. In this study, a quantitative approach was conducted on the students of two leading public universities (graduates and postgraduates) to identify the impact of the determinants of the SERVQUAL model (reliability, responsiveness, assurance, empathy, and website design), as well as ‘learning content’, on overall perceived quality and satisfaction. In total, 895 respondents participated in the study, and data were analyzed wit...

In practice, all inventories cannot be controlled with equal attention. In order to efficiently control the inventory items and to determine the suitable ordering policies for them, multiple criteria inventory classification is used. In this paper, a systematic and logical approach is structured for multiple criteria inventory classification through integrating Fuzzy Delphi Method (FDM) with Fuzzy Analytic Hierarchy Process (FAHP). Fuzzy Delphi method used to identify the most important and significant criteria and, Fuzzy AHP is used to determine the relative weights of the attributes or criteria, and to classify inventories into different categories. To accredit the proposed model, it is implemented for the 351 raw materials of switch gear section of Energypac Engineering Limited (EEL), a large power engineering company of Bangladesh. Implementation results show that the proposed method can be used in inventory classification.

In the global economy, the modern industrial and commercial organisation needs to develop effective methods for assessing the performance of their human resources. In this study, a Bayesian belief network (BBN) model is developed to evaluate the performance of an employee considering the dependencies and correlations between the criteria. The capabilities of the proposed approach are demonstrated on the lumber assembly section of a furniture manufacturing company in Bangladesh. Kendall's rank correlation coefficient is used to identify the correlation between the criteria. The results indicate that the proposed BBN-based model can explicitly quantify uncertainties and handle the complex relationships between the criteria better when compared with existing performance evaluation methods. The proposed model is also capable of assessing the credibility of multiple experts and ranking employees for different purposes such as reward, improvement, training, promotion, termination, compensation, etc.
Buyer decision processes are the decision-making processes undertaken by consumers about a potent... more Buyer decision processes are the decision-making processes undertaken by consumers about a potential market transaction before, during, and after the purchase of a product or service. More generally, decision-making is the cognitive processes of selecting a course of action from among multiple alternatives. How many evaluation criteria a consumer will use, what different types of criteria will be considered and how much importance will be placed on each of them depends on the consumer himself and the product consideration. The Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) is a multi criteria decision-making process that is especially suitable for complex decisions, which involve the comparison of decision elements, which are difficult to quantify. The crux of AHP is the determination of the relative weights to rank the decision alternatives. In this study, it has been identified that through using AHP model consumers can evaluate the product attributes differently from simple evaluation criteria. AHP process described an effective buying decision by finding out the effectual attributes of different alternatives.

Travel websites provide customers with diverse services including travel information and products through the Internet. In practical environments, Internet users face a variety of travel website service quality (TWSQ) that is vague from human beings' subjective judgments. In the face of the strong competitive environment, in order to profit by making customers proceed with transactions on the websites, travel websites should pay more attention to improve their service quality. This study discusses the major factors for travel agency websites' quality from the viewpoint of users' perception, and explores the use of Fuzzy Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (FTOPSIS) for the evaluation of TWSQ. Fuzzy TOPSIS is a preferred solution method when the performance ratings are vague and imprecise. The proposed methodology is illustrated through a practical application.

Evaluation of the proper and appropriate hazardous industrial waste transportation firm (HIWTF) i... more Evaluation of the proper and appropriate hazardous industrial waste transportation firm (HIWTF) is a vital problem for hazardous waste generators as hazardous and toxic industrial wastes may cause extensive damage to both humans and the environment when improperly handled. In general, many conflicting factors affect the appropriate HIWTF selection problem which adheres to uncertain and imprecise data. In this paper, a simple, systematic and logical scientific approach is structured to evaluate HIWTF through integrating fuzzy analytical hierarchy process (FAHP) with the Preference Ranking Organization Method for Enrichment Evaluations (PROMETHEE). The proposed decision-making approach takes advantage of the synergy between these two well-known multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM) methods in which their strong and weak points are detected and a ranking is provided which facilitates the final selection for the decision maker. To accredit the proposed model, it is implemented in an automotive battery manufacturing company in Bangladesh.

Therefore, estimating the demand quantity for the next period most likely appears to be crucial. Manufacturing companies consider forecasting a crucial process for effectively guiding several activities, and research has devoted particular attention to this issue. The objective of the paper is to propose a new forecasting mechanism which is modeled by integrating Fuzzy Delhi Method (FDM) with Artificial Neural Network (ANN) techniques to manage the demand with incomplete information. Artificial neural networks has been applied as it is capable to model complex, nonlinear processes without having to assume the form of the relationship between input and output variables. The effectiveness of the proposed approach to the demand forecasting issue is demonstrated for a 20/25 MVA Distribution Transformer from Energypac Engineering Limited, a leading power engineering company of Bangladesh.
