Christmas At 1U

I went to 1Utama the day after Christmas to sort out my Onecard issues.

After I was done, I took the opportunity to jalan-jalan and look-see-look-see since I was there.

I must say that the decorations are really pretty.

Much nicer than the one at The Starling for sure.

Of course lah, 1U has a bigger budget and bigger floor space.

I saw a few people taking the opportunity to pose for pictures.

It has been a long time since I came here to lepak-lepak.

But quite honestly, I was not really in the mood for sightseeing.

I was more focused on my spring cleaning activities at home.

Then I went to Daiso.

I saw these cute pillow but at that price, I decided not to buy. But I did buy other things because there is no such thing as walking in to Daiso without buying anything hah...hah...

After Daiso, I went up to the supermarket. Ah! Oranges are out already. I sent this photo to my partner because he is the one always excited about oranges hah...hah...

And of course there were loads of ngaku and the thought of peeling, slicing and frying these made me feel tired.

I don't have it in me anymore to make ngaku chips.

Then I went to check out restaurants.

Looked interesting.

Then I saw this kiosk serving claypot coffee.

House of Pok is still around. Good! But no, I did not stop at any eatery because I had these waiting for me at home.

They were drying out in the fridge.

So this was my lunch for the day.

I had only one piece of steak, the other one I saved for the next day.

Then that evening I stayed up until past midnight to binge watch Squid Game 2. I thought I wasn't hungry but heh...heh... I had to air fry two pieces of chicken chop. Alamak, I forgot to snap photo. But it's not anything you haven't seen before.

    1. Oh really? I have never been to SG Suntec City mall. I remembered the last big one I visited a long, long time ago was Ngee Ann City.

  6. Perhaps you're at Starling too often, so the decor looks "old" to you but at IU they look fresh since you don't go there often. Hmmm, let me guess, you must have bought some kitchen-related stuff from Daiso...lol! :D

  7. What is this OneCard? Is it a credit card?

    1. It is a loyalty card for the mall One Utama. It is also a parking card. We can also collect points when dining or buying merchandise from restaurants/shops at the mall that participate in this loyalty program.

    1. Wah got such thing as vegetarian pork trotters! Yes, I find vegetarian food very palatable and delicious. I am amazed that some of the products have almost the same texture as real meat.

  9. Hi, just read an online article about the health benefits of owning a cat. Thought you might be interested to know. Just sharing part of the article.

Interacting with cats has been scientifically proven to reduce stress and anxiety. The simple act of petting a cat can increase levels of serotonin and dopamine in the brain, which help improve mood and reduce stress. Cats offer emotional support and companionship that can significantly enhance mental health. They provide a sense of purpose and responsibility, which is particularly beneficial for individuals struggling with depression or loneliness. A cat’s company can improve one’s emotional well-being.

    1. Thanks for sharing! Oh, I agree with this article. My cats do give me a lot of joy - my cat therapy so to speak. When I carry them, I feel a lot of comfort and love. Although sometimes when they are not in the mood, they try to scratch me. LOL!
