With this statement alone, it is undeniable that commercial advancements in technology and the facility of the world-wide web creates a sort of transcendence in a faster and inclusive way that is not possible in the physical world. Nevertheless, if this very modern concept, if not an advent of a futuristic one, would be collapsed in the confines of a perspective of a still developing nation, what would be the outcome? This study aims to look at the rise of New Media and social media in the Philippines, as well as its effect on the promotion of popular culture on the media consumers of the country. In lieu of the major changes in the Philippine education system, this paper interrogates the background of the controversial K-12 Education System, shifting from a ten year educational cycle to a twelve year cycle, mandated by the Department of Education, by looking at the policy and curriculum guide that has shaped its implementation, specifically zoning in the much speculated Mother-Tongue based learning. Namely, these are Department of Education Order no.31 s.2012 and the K-12 Mother Tongue Curriculum Guide circa December 2013.
As mentioned earlier, this paper looks primarily on the Mother-Tongue based Multilingual Education, the prime factor of this newly refurbished education system, to check for certain themes and patterns that may show unique features, implementation issues, relations of power between the policy maker and the implementers, and the like. By looking at such themes, one could already extrapolate the success, or the lack of it thereof, of this momentous benchmark of Philippine education that would affect a single generation, at the very least. Interviews are made to validate or serve as an assessment about the implementation of the text.

In the more recent times, women leadership have been placed of paramount importance as the norms regarding leadership marked by gender have been blurred. Leadership studies among children, however, is an unexplored field, and studies regarding it could not only serve as a template regarding the possible exploration of it, but also, give a preview regarding the idea of children when it comes to leadership.
This paper does exactly what has been said – a perception study about the young girls of Miriam College Lower School’s concept and nuances of leadership. Sixteen young ladies of Miriam College Lower School’s own student government had been selected and had participated in a focus group discussion regarding the topic.
The study aims not only to check the participants’ perception of leadership but also serve as a baseline data to determine if the school’s leadership program is suited or if it needs to be developed.
All in all, the study ties the knot of a leadership perception study in relation to gender and age.

This paper aims to investigate the phenomenon of regular netizens turned
into print professional writers through the facilitation of the blogging
platform Wattpad, in a case study of a young writer's experience. The
proponent had a one-on-one interview with Ms. ABC from publishing company
A (name and publishing company name withheld) and she innocently related
her encounter with the publishing company, from the moment she got an
email that she would be hired as a professional writer, up to the basis
of her compensation, and all her actual participation with the said
venture.
The proponent, on the other hand, tried to investigate the phenomenon as
he delved into the obscure or probable case of exploitation of the young
writer, and relate it to the bigger picture of why publishing companies
in the Philippines would go into such venture, and ultimately, its
effects on the produced creative literary works by the seemingly growing
industry based on the crossover between social media-blogging and book
publishing.
This study will be limited to just one participant, but can be explored
further on with more interviewees to actually create a collective
narrative on the said phenomenon.

The Internet has constantly been changing our lives ever since,
especially through the usage of social networking sites such as
Facebook and Twitter. Ordinary people have begun to post their own
opinion or criticism in a certain topic, for the world to see
(Hauben, 1996). Because of this, the social media has not been
just a fad of everyday life but has been an alleged contributor,
if not a facilitator, of social demonstrations as exemplified in
the Arab Springs, or the uprisings that had occurred on some Arab
countries (Lever, 2010).
Now, as the country runs in turmoil and cussedness on the misuse
and apparent embezzlement of the Priority Development Assistance
Fund or PDAF, several thousands of Filipinos had gathered at the
Quirino Grandstand last August 26 in protest, as they had called
on the abolishment of the PDAF. Apparently, several news
broadcasting companies had proclaimed that the mobilisation now
famed as the "Million People March", was widely communicated in
social networking websites; Facebook and Twitter playing the same
"role" they have had in the Arab Springs.
The objective of this paper is to incite whether or not social
media facilitated the recent Million People March through an
interview of the said netizen-proponent of the mobilisation, and a
review of the posts this proponent has communicated to other
netizens from the very first day of creating the Facebook "event"
up to the actual mobilisation, and if he or she has followedthrough
the aftermath of the march. The impact of the netizen's
posts will likewise be measured through opinion-sharing throughout
the websites (likes, comments, personal messages to the proponent,
if any), and an interview to some of the persons who had actually
committed in going to the event, as well as those who declined, or
answered maybe. The researcher will also check the probable
effects of TV and print media news reports about the role of the
netizens in the arousal, organisation, and mobilisation of the
march with the "Agenda-Setting theory"of McCombs and Shaw -- if
ever these media had only exaggerated the role of netizens in the
mobilisation and/or if they have influenced other netizens to join
the march by such a promotion.
