One possible workaround is to transclude each Page individually using standard transclusion syntax (double curly brackets), as I have done at https://zh.wikisource.org/wiki/江南話新文字五分鐘 for a PDF with backwards pagination; however, this loses Proofread Page-specific features such as .pagenum anchors.

For wikisource:ko:Page:論語諺解 001.pdf/5 and wikisource:ko:重刊老乞大諺解 001.pdf/5 as well, the thumbnail is not loading: Error: 500, Internal Server Error; Error: 429, Too Many Requests. Is this the same issue?

It is now 2018. Is https://caniuse.com/details acceptable user agent support?

Unless I am mistaken, it also affects this revision very badly. I can't even see the player!

Thank you for your explanation of Elasticsearch's behavior, and tricks that can be used to get desired results.
Oh, indeed it does... Should this task be closed as invalid?

@Aklapper: It's on the English Wiktionary.
I think this one would be interesting. If I'm manually inspecting changes, and tell AWB to skip pages that have no differences, it would be nice for AWB to keep loading new pages in the background and making new diffs while I'm doing other things, instead of sitting idle (and I have to wait for the next page in the queue to load).

I want to mention that even Twitter does this.

It seems that some change in the meantime has eliminated the problems presented in the original report.

I think the problem is that the image has a transparent background. The black diagram on the Media Viewer's black background becomes effectively invisible.

Probably worth noting that this issue affects many Chinese entries @ en.wiktionary, as the audio obscures the IPA transcription of a word.
If I understand correctly, Parser profiling data is now a JavaScript variable that can be found within the HTML source of the page. Is there still a way to access this normally from a Page preview without cracking open the source?
