Lianne • Studio LP Ceramics • UK based but worldwide shipping on Instagram: "Throwing curved forms consistently was always a challenge for me and usually meant I had a lot of trimming to get the curve right. So I designed a set of profile ribs, and here I’m using Rib B which I think is my favourite, to create a gentle curved mug form. It’s so easy to go from a cylinder to a curve, I went from ball of clay to taking this off the wheel in less than 5 minutes. Are you into curved mugs or do you prefer a traditional straight sided, or maybe you want even more curvy huggable mugs?! Also- did you notice the ribs have changed colour, they are now an even more bright and vibrant mint. I love this colour so much! #potteryvideos #potterytools #potterylife #pottersofinstagram #potterswheel #pot Pottery Mug Trimming, How To Throw A Mug On The Wheel, Cylinder Pottery Ideas, Mug Shapes Pottery, Pottery Ribs, Pottery Videos, Pottery Tools, Pottery Techniques, Pottery Cups

Dault Pottery on Instagram: "We need your help answering a question although as I type this out…I’m pretty sure David’s opinion is going to win… Should there be a drinking spot carved into both sides of the travel mug making them work for both right and left handed people OR should we keep it to only one side but let people choose their preference? I personally don’t like the way the mug looks when I carve both sides out because visually it’s just too busy and it seems too open. David makes the argument that if we go ahead and make them ambidextrous, they would be way more practical and functional and it would eliminate any need to keep track of who needs a left handed mug. What do you think about it?"
