Green has always been my favorite color. Even when I was a little girl, I'd open that brand new, beautiful box of sharp crayons...and go for the green one.

And, as you can probably tell, I love all of the natural greens outdoors. Someday I hope to go to Ireland to experience the rolling hills of green in person.

Under a Purple Sky

Violets and purples...{sigh}. I was particularly excited last night when I took the final dog-walk of the evening, and lil Ellie and I saw this lavender sky. We ran back to the house for the camera! (Shame on me for not having it with me all the time!! hahaha. I'm learning!).

Have I mentioned lately that I am very excited and proud of my daughter Mia's creative life and business? When Brides Magazine contacted her about a photoshoot with her floral hairpins, we were bustin'. And now, the June 2010 issue of BRIDES is out, and well, I am really bustin'!

Tools or Toys?

Not enough time to create hasn't curbed my appetite for stocking my PaperPumpkin Room with tools and toys for when I do have more peaceful, relaxed moments...

I didn't think I'd still be able to find Sharpie Poster-Paint Markers, because they've been discontinued, but I found a set, so I am really eager to test them out. And ooh, these stamps and new tapes, colorful fabrics, and ephemera and....oh I could go on and on. But then, if I could go on and on, I'd be journaling and making new goodness for PaperPumpkin! Soon! Soon! I promise!

Lilacs are Coming! Lilacs are Coming!

Though today we could have gotten snow and hail, and the wind is gusting at 55 mph (our power went out all morning), the lilacs are blooming!

So, a tree limb just crashed down on my car, but I am staying focused on the promise of spring's beauty!

Flowering Crabapple and...

...my first butterfly on camera! I was so surprised and excited that it may be out of focus! I was zooming in on the gorgeous magenta blossoms bursting out, and a butterfly flitted onto the branch!
