Etched glasses

This evening I etched on some glasses for me and 2 of the girls at work. The font I used for mine is called Fairytale and it was quite tedious to separate the layers to put on the glass, but completely worth it. Aunt Pat--this is one of the new little dishes I got the other day. Of course in the picture you can't see the base, but it's right under my hand. The other 2 glasses are called roman urns.

This evening the boys were playing outside. They were laying upside down in the driveway and playing rocketship. It was so cute!

Who says kids these days don't have an imagination? They just haven't watched my silly kids. Ok, there is a whole lot of screaming coming from the bathroom where Jason is giving Anthony a bath, so I better go. Not that my sweet little angel would EVER pitch a fit..

Miss Ewe

Hey yall. Here's a card I made for one of my co-workers who is moving to Utah. It is my first attempt at a 5 1/2 by 8 1/2 card.


It definitely fits in the "Clean and Simple Card" category. I really like how it turned out. The stamp is from the dollar bin at Michael's and the sentiment is from a farm stamp set my friend Andrea gave me. It had a lamb too, but I liked the two lambs together. Hope you enjoy!

More birthday cards

After making Lexi's birthday card last night, I went ahead and made a few more birthday cards.

I can also show you the card I sent Chrissy earlier this week. She reads my blog, so I wanted to wait until she got it before I posted it. It reminded me of her since Tag and Bella both went to school this year, even though I know she doesn't sit around eating bon-bons all day!

Happy Birthday Lexi!

Hey yall. This evening I made a card for Lexi's birthday party tomorrow and it turned out so cute! I noticed today that her backpack has monkeys on it, so I went with a monkey theme.

When I went outside to take pictures of the card, I also took some pictures of the boys in the pool. Anthony was on the noodle swimming from the deep end to the shallow end.
Joey called Garfield over to the pool. Garfield came right up to him and let him pet him! He is a very sweet cat.

Anthony's PreK3 Open House

Hey yall. Here's a few pictures of Anthony at his PreK3 Open House at Ms. Lisa's this evening. He loved it and cried because he didn't want to come home. He kept saying, "I want to learn things!"

Of course his favorite chair was the timeout chair! Joey and Lexi put on a little puppet show while we were there.


Hopefully he will be still be excited about school when he starts on Monday!

Contentment

Hey yall. This blog post is gonna get deep, so you may wanna go get your waders. About an hour ago I posted my status on facebook that I need to learn to be content. I've had a rough evening. Not for any external reasons, but I'm struggling right now. Where I am in life today is not where I envisioned I would be and it is not necessarily where I want to be. Of course if you know me at all you know I change my mind constantly, so not being where I want to be is not an uncommon thing. It got me to thinking about how I could learn to be more content, and I thought back to something I learned several years ago. I went with my friend Jessica W to Ruston to a ladies' conference. My favorite author, Elizabeth George, was speaking there. It was a wonderful experience--I even got to meet Elizabeth and she signed my copy of "A Woman After God's Own Heart." I remember very clearly what she told us that day. She said we often think, daydream, and wish about how we thought life would be and how we wish it would be. We as women often complain, "This is not how it's supposed to be!" in response to many situations. This kind of thinking is self defeating and does no good! She told us that the verse she looks to constantly is Philippians 4:8 - "Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable--if anything is excellent or praiseworthy--think about such things." In other words, we shouldn't be grumpy with our situation and whine that this is not how it should be. We should only think on those things that are true, noble, right, pure, lovely, and admirable. Only one thing constantly fits that description--our God. He knows where I am. He knows what I think I want. More importantly, He knows what I need and can do whatever it takes to fulfill HIS plan, not mine. I'm gonna let Him be in charge now and put me where I need to be. And I'm gonna be content about it.

Joey's first day of 2nd grade

It's been a busy evening, but I'm here to share the only picture I got of Joey today. The camera lens fogged up a little, but it will have to do.

I had to run out of the house with my hair only half done to get this picture. When he and Lexi got home from school, they were not interested in taking pictures, but were ready to jump on the trampoline. I had to pick up some glasses this evening and get them etched to deliver to the Gingerbread House tomorrow. Sometimes I enjoy the etching more than others. This evening I was really tired and just wanted to visit with Joey a little, so I would have rather done the glasses another time, but I'm glad I've gotten them out of the way so I can get them delivered. I'm going to check out Facebook for a second and then I'm headed to bed. Yall have a good evening!

Another notebook

Hey yall. Today is Joey's first day of school, but I don't have any pictures to share yet. Instead I want to share another notebook I made this past weekend.This one has the same blue lined pages as the other Lily the Fairy notebook I made. She's so cute! I am loving my Bind-It-All in case you can't tell :)

I also made a little notebook for Joey. He picked out the paper and where he wanted Mario and Luigi. They're also on the back cover.

He has already started making a list in the notebook of who is in the Mario club at school. I can't be in the club because I haven't gone through the training program. He thought about letting me in anyway, but decided I might be a little too old too. I'll be back later with pictures of him on his first day. Have a good day!

From Courtney's Closet #53

Happy Monday to ya! I just got back from a parent meeting at Joey's school and wanted to share with you a card I made yesterday evening. I wanted to play along with Libby's weekly challenge - From Courtney's Closet. This week was the monthly playdate. All I could remember was that the little friend was wearing blue. The card I made is Courtney and her friend when they get older.

I didn't have any little girls with blue dresses (I've colored them already and none of them are blue!) so I did an old lady in a blue dress. The phrase under the picture says, "Listen Honey--The dress is by Ralph Lauren...The body by chocolate chip!" I've had this stamp for a few months and this is my first time to use it. Hopefully Libby will like my silly sense of humor!

More Bind It All projects

Good morning! No, I'm not skipping church, I just scheduled this post in case my Sunday got too busy. I had to show you the other notebooks I made on Saturday. Actually, the first one I'm gonna share is the first one I made, but I rounded the corners and added a scripture verse on the front.

Anthony had to hold it for me since I was taking pictures on the diving board. The table I usually take outdoor pictures on was dirty and I was too lazy to clean it.
The next project is my favorite so far. I got some cute little blue lined paper pads at Dollar Tree 5 for $1. I pulled the sheets apart and made them into this little book.
That's the inside view. Here's a view of the front. It features Lily the Fairy from Pink Cat Studio.

Isn't it so cute! This one has another Bible verse on it. I'm definitely gonna have to make another little notebook with her on it. I really want to order Pink Cat Studio's new fairy friends stamp set. If you haven't seen it yet, click on the blinkie on the right side of my blog and check it out. It features several different animals as fairies!

Bind It All projects

Hey yall. Today I'm gonna show you 2 post it note holders I made for my co-workers yesterday evening.

I made a notebook with this same paper earlier in the week and Haley requested one just like it.

Jodie didn't get to see the notebook, but she thought it sounded pretty cool and wanted a post-it note holder too. She wanted red and gold with a frog. After I picked out the paper I decided it really didn't go with frogs. Then I remembered Aunt Pat had given me some garden charms. I was so happy that one of them was a frog! These were so easy to make with my Bind It All. I cut out the letters with the Alphalicious cartridge on the Cricut. I think I'm gonna make some of these little notebooks or post-it note holders for teacher gifts and put them in my booth at Bayou Crafters.

Speaking of school, I'm gonna leave you with pictures of Joey when he met his teacher Mrs. Norris this past Thursday. His first day will be Tuesday and I think he's a little excited.

Back to school card

Hey yall. This evening I'd like to share a card I made for my monthly card swap on SCS. This month's them was back to school or fall. I chose back to school.
The blue paper behind the cute little school boy has paper airplanes on it. It is so cute! I only made one with a red base. The others had either a blue or yellow base. I love how they turned out. Unfortunately, the pictures of the others didn't turn out. I've got some more projects I'm working on that I should have finished tomorrow. Have a good night!

Hippo Birthday

Hey yall. I've been quite busy this past week. Some of the crafty stuff I made I completely forgot to take a picture of it and now it's too late. Here's one thing my friend Jaime and I made this week. Her little boy Gabriel is turning 2 and she's having a small family party. He kept telling her he wanted a hippo party and she mentioned she didn't know where she would find hippo invitations. Here's what we came up with using the Zooballoo cricut cartridge.

I think it turned out cute, even if it was a bit time consuming. I think Jaime's favorite part was the wiggly eyes. I just think the hippo itself is my favorite part.

Tonight I decided to be creative in the kitchen. If you've been reading my blog very long (or if you even remotely know me), you know the kitchen is not where my talent lies, to say the least. All day today I've wanted some spinach & artichoke dip with fried bowtie pasta like they serve at Copeland's. Finding out that Jason went to Copeland's and had that very appetizer at lunch today was the last straw. I went to the grocery store and picked up some spinach, artichokes, cream cheese, and mozarella and figured I'd just wing it. For once in my life, I made something without directly following a recipe and it was edible!

I'm still in shock that it turned out as good as it did. Not perfect, mind you, but pretty good. I'm a very picky eater and not that familiar with spinach or artichoke, so even finding them in the grocery store took quite a while. They were pretty gross to prepare, but worth it in the end. Jason tried it when he got home from church and said it was pretty good. I'm gonna bring the leftovers to work tomorrow and get suggestions from the girls. Anyhow, I'm gonna celebrate the kiddos being at Mimi and Papa's house by having an early bedtime. Yall have a good night!

From Courtney's Closet #51 - Carter's Turn!

Hey yall! I made a quick card tonight that's been on my mind the last few days. It was inspired by Libby's little boy Carter on this post. He's wearing a red shirt with a dinosaur on it. My Big Sis Loretta sent me a set of 25 little boy stamps and I've been dying to use them. It didn't have a dinosaur, but it did have a cute little puppy. He reminds me of the Golden Book story "The Poky Little Puppy."

Isn't it cute? Joey really liked it. He picked a dog for his birthday cookie cake this weekend. He's also asked if he can have one of Aunt Pat's dog's new puppies.

I also took pictures of my little Anthony eating his Trix Swirls this evening.

I think he's sportin' another kool-aid mustache. It may be permanent at this point. I gotta get a few more things done so I can put the boys to bed as soon as it's "big dark" outside. Catch yall later!

Happy Birthday Emma--again

I still couldn't get the pictures to load on the old laptop, so I'm using the new one. I don't know what the problem is, but I'll figure it out later.

To me this picture looked like Emma. I was so happy her mom liked the card. The next card I made was also of a little girl, but I didn't have anyone in mind when I made it.

Both of these little girls are images I received from my SCS Big Sis Loretta. I probably won't get much time to make anything tonight because we just got home from Emma's party. The boys had a great time. Today Jason took the boys school shopping, so I'll have to show yall a picture of Anthony with his new backpack soon. Have a good evening!

Happy Birthday Emma!

Hey yall. I've got some girlie cards to share this evening. The first one I made for a little girl named Emma. The boys are going to her 4th birthday party tomorrow evening. This adorable little girl reminded me of Emma, who is so pretty.

Anthony's Disney book

Since I made Joey's book cover tonight, I decided to go ahead and make Anthony's cover too. He had picked out a blue gingham book and wanted Donald Duck on the front. He actually started with a pink book, but I talked him into picking something else. He also had a hard time deciding on a character, so I figured I better cut out Donald before he changed his mind again. Of course he changed which Donald he wanted several times too, but it's done now.

Since his name was so much longer I couldn't fit it beside Donald, but I still think it turned out good. He certainly liked it, which is all that matters. I gotta get to bed now. Early church will come very early in the morning. Yall have a good night!

Blogger issues

As you can see, my blog looks a little different. Joey and I were trying to get a Mario or Luigi background and I lost all my blog links!!! Hopefully I'll get time later to change all the purple to green or pink, but until then, my colors don't match either. Thanks for your patience!

Joey's Disney book

Hey yall. Joey and I started on his Disney book this evening while Jason and Anthony were gone to Wal-Mart. We did the front cover. He chose Pluto to go on the front because Pluto is a dog and he wants a dog.

I offered to download the Disney font to make his name, but he wanted a regular looking font. I love how this turned out. He helped me decide between 2 shades of yellowish. He had picked this book out at Hobby Lobby a while back when albums were on sale for 50% off. Now that we've taken a picture, I'm gonna go put the protective cover back on.
Earlier today I took pictures in his room. He's been setting up for his birthday next weekend. He's got Mario figurines and Lego creations. Some of the Lego creations are Mario related, but not all of them.
See the big 7 on his tv? That's because he's gonna be 7. He's got support pieces on the bottom so it will stand up.

I'm gonna go try to get some more stuff done before the boys get back. I don't have any Disney pictures printed yet, so I can't really do a whole lot inside the album. Maybe I'll get Anthony's cover done while he's not hovering over me. Yall have a good evening!
