EtnoWiki strikes again in Poland!
Author: Klara Sielicka-Baryłka (WMPL)
There was a day in December 2019, when new biographical articles of significant Polish ethnographers (Aniela Maria Chmielińska), ethnologist (Bogna Maria Jezernik) and folklorists (Bronisława Anna Dekowska) were created... Summary: Thanks to the Wikimedia Poland cooperation with the Institute of Ethnology and Cultural Anthropology at the University of Lodz (central Poland) students of Ethnology became wikipedians.
Students were strongly motivated by university coordinators: Grażyna Ewa Karpińska, Prof. and Katarzyna Orszulak-Dudkowska, PhD. The wiki-workshop was hosted by Celina Strzelecka (GLAM-Wiki coordinator, Wikimedia Polska) and Klara Sielicka-Baryłka (educational projects specialist, Wikimedia Polska). They both are ethnologists, so whole event was important for them also on different level :)
The activity is part of the #EtnoWiki wikiproject, which brings together in joint efforts, among others: the Polish Ethnological Society, the Institute of Anthropology and Ethnology at the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań and the Department of Ethnology and Cultural Anthropology of the University of Wrocław.
