Shipping policy

Holiday Shipping Deadline
December 18. This is according to the USPS publicly announced shipping times. If you want to ensure it arrives by the holiday we suggest ordering sooner rather than later, but the 18th is the last day they say it will arrive.

If you ordered or plan to order our Illustrated
Henry David Thoreau book, "To Live Deliberately," please note the ship date is Dec 20th. This was due to a reorder after we discovered some damaged books. This is noted on the product page, but some people have missed it. 

SHIPPING POLICIES

Domestic orders

We ship every 24-48 hours and ship times are typically 3-5 days. Please let us know if you need something faster, and we will do our best to accommodate your order.

International orders: All orders are shipped via DHL, who deliver more quickly and more affordably than USPS international. In order to take advantage of this service, we ship once a week. Any extra delay this causes is more than made up for in faster ship times, typically 1-3 weeks from the ship date.

Damaged Items
We are happy to replace damaged items, and request that you send us photos of the damage to the product and packaging. We may at our discretion request a return of the item in question.

Lost Packages
On rare occasions, packages are lost in the mail. If your package has made no progress in three days, please notify us and we will investigate. We will either make sure the package is on its way to you or cover the cost of a new shipment to you.

Stolen Packages
This is a very rare occurrence but it does happen. All packages have a tracking number which you will be provided with. If your package is marked as delivered but you cannot locate it, we recommend calling your local branch (not the 800-ASK-USPS number) to get the most relevant details from the local worker on your route. They may have put the package in a safer place or in some cases may have marked it as delivered but are holding it at your local post office. Your local postmaster will be able to provide you with more information. Unfortunately, we can no longer take responsibility for replacement of packages marked as delivered, because as the sender we have no ability to verify remotely whether the package was received.
