Here’s what you need to remember! •Find the beginning of a new leaf set (these will look like fresh new growth on the stem). Cut above that where you want to prune. •Aim to remove 1/3 of the entire plant for best results! Established roses are quite hardy so if you mess up a little, don’t stress it. •Also remove any dead stalks that may be on the plant. Cut those completely off. •Think about the airflow of the plant. If two stalks are too close together, remove one of them. Pruning happens at different times depending on your zone, but you want to do it before it really starts growing!
