Gelenia Trinidad Rivera

I'm currently a Latin American and Caribbean Studies grad student, with a Museum Studies concentration at New York University (NYU) for the 2021-2023 cohort (MacCracken Fellow) and a Smithsonian LMSP 2022 Fellow. Previously, I worked as an Administrative Assistant and Anthropological Collection Management Assistant for the Museo de Historia, Antropología y Arte at the University of Puerto Rico, Río Piedras Campus (UPR-RP) with a Bachelor's Degree major in Archaeology and Art History. My studies focus on non-invasive archaeological research, historical approaches to archaeological collections, geolocation and mapping of census data, digitation for museums, and phenomenology approaches toward research based on the anthropological theory for art history. On my path toward graduate and post-graduate studies, I look forward to a master's and doctorate degree focused on Critical Race Theory, Caribbean Textile Production, Intergenerational Memory, Museum Anthropology, Caribbean and Historical Archaeology, and Digital Humanities.
