It's that time of year. December has come and it's brought all of its joys, including Christmas. But what is the meaning of this special holiday? Is it the gifts under the tree, the lights in the windows, or the cards in the mail?

In 2017, the Trek's Maggie Slepian wrote a memorable piece entitled, "Age is Just a Number..." , about an 82 year old nobo thru hiker, Greybeard, who set the record for the oldest person to thru hike the Appalachian Trail. Well, if age IS just a number, Victor "Pappy" Kubilius has just raised that number.
