I spoke to Charlie today. Everything is going well: He and his team have built nearly 4 houses. He has bought a circular saw, levels, hammers, tape measures and squares and is buying bricks, timber and corrugated iron to build a roof next week. He's spent £500 on a sustainable Garden Project, which will set up a whole village to feed themselves - the families who own the garden land will be able to grow their own vegetables, and any surplus produce will be sold cheaply or given to feed…

The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council has released the following guidelines on what to do before, during, and after a typhoon, a strong typhoon or a super typhoon, and in case of flooding.

We are urgently trying to reach 500,000 people affected by Typhoon Haiyan. Our priority will be to reach the most vulnerable families with safe water and sanitation facilities.
