Thicker sweaters for the fall/winter are easier—I think because there’s more to felt into so you don’t have to work as hard to integrate the roving. Thinner sweaters take much longer! It takes a lot more to flatten the fibers completely!! Jean jackets take a very long time, but are so awesome, it’s worth it. In some cases it might make more sense to make a felted patch and then sew it on if the sweater is very thin.

Thinner hoodies can be too fragile to be needle felted and it can cause more smaller holes, but perhaps with a small needle and lots of time it would work.
