Harley Pasternak MSc, Hon Kin, ACSM, CSEP on Instagram: "I’ve seen far too many variations on oblique exercises on social media. While many of them look super cool, very few are properly challenging the obliques, and even less are safe. These are my two favorite oblique movements: 1. The first requires a back extension bench, and really is, in my opinion, the most focused oblique movement you can do. Different back extension benches from different manufacturers, have different specifications, especially foot platforms, so you need to adjust accordingly. 2. The second is a side plank. For more of a challenge you can turn it into an active side plank. Both are easily accessible, no equipment needed, and pretty fantastic moves. 3. The third is a dumbbell side bend.
