Rasul Mowatt
Rasul A. Mowatt is the Department Head of Parks, Recreation, & Tourism Management in the College of Natural Resources as well as an Affiliate Professor in the Department of Sociology and Anthropology at North Carolina State University. Formerly a Professor in American Studies and in Geography of the College of Arts + Sciences, and prior to that a Professor in Recreation, Park, and Tourism Studies within the School of Public Health – Bloomington, Indiana University. His main research areas: geographies of threat and violence, geographies of Race, sociology of leisure, animation of public space, social justice, and critical pedagogy. His work on is on display across various academic articles, book chapters, presentations and most specifically within Routledge published The Geographies of Threat and The Production of Violence.
