Fabulous Fun on Friday!!
My posting section of my blog is driving me nuts! It's doing weird stuff, so I'm not sure what's up with that! But Lord willing, I'll get it figured out soon!
Had the grandbabies for a couple of hours this morning (always a joy!) and then it was off to the church to help some of the kiddos to make cards for soldiers. Instead of going to school and participating in all the "ghoulish" stuff they like to make a day of it at the church by making cards for the troops, apple pies for their families, watching a faith-based movie and having lunch together, we did have a bowl of candy for all of us sugar lovers as well as rice crispie treats for dessert!! I'll need to go brush my teeth after this!!
I almost forgot to write about the FABULOUS FUN ON FRIDAY over at CHRISTIAN PAPER CRAFTS!! You don't want to miss out! Here is what our wonderfully creative leader, Cindy has for us today: "It is not unusual to make a different size or shape of paper project, which is what our challenge is for today. Make a project that has an unusual shape out of the norm. Get creative and out of the box so we can see what you made.
Today you can also purchase a profile badge and play in this challenge to be entered into a contest for a Stampin' Up! Level 1 Hostess set of Country Morning. We all know what a cool set this is, so let's see what you can do. You have to upload your project to our gallery to be eligible and the contest will close at midnight Friday night."
Use keyword FOF28 when uploading here and keyword CPC-FOF28 when uploading to your blog or other online galleries.
You have a few hours left so get busy and let's see what you can do??? I can't wait to see what you are going to share over at CHRISTIAN PAPER CRAFTS!!

It's a late Wednesday evening and I just got done reading chpt 4 in the book "Having a Mary Heart in a Martha World" by Joanna Weaver. This is my second time reading the book and yes it is that good, I highly recommend it to those of you looking for a good nonfiction Christian book for women. It's not to bad for men either although it is definitely a "woman's" read!! I have read a few excerpts to my dh who of course doesn't get nearly as excited as I do! But that's okay! You should check out the Book Club over at CHRISTIAN PAPER CRAFTS and join the discussion!
But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellence of the power may be of God and not of us.
2 Corinthians 4:7
Circles, Circles and More Circles!
I hope your day is going well and that you are rejoicing in the Lord no matter what the circumstance may be! Don't forget the Word of God says that the "...joy of the Lord is your strength." (Nehemiah 8:10)
It is all about circles today in my layout because it is all about CIRCLES in our SKETCH TUESDAY CHALLENGE from Alisa at CHRISTIAN PAPER CRAFTS this week! I haven't done a layout in awhile and I tried first doing a card with circles but I really hit a brick wall trying to make one that I liked!! And believe me I tried, almost lost my joy over it!
Addy is just a little over 3 months in this picture. She is so cute and her little dress was adorable so when her Poppa, Momma & big brother Jakob all went to the store I grabbed my camera and had some one-on-one time with this little cutie patootie!
Another closeup of her checking out her dress! Such concentration!
Here is the recipe to my layout:Cardstock: Bazzill, 3M Post-it Craft Paper;
Pattern paper: American Crafts;
Embellishments: Ribbon, American Crafts; Buttons, Foof-a-la! Bag 'o Buttons (Going Places); White Embroidery floss, DMC
Tools: Cricut, George Cartridge (lg circles); EK Success 2" square punch, corner rounder, Daisy punch; Scallop Circles, Marvy Uchida; Sakura black pen for journaling.
Thanks for taking the time to look and comment!!
Yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will joy in the God of my salvation.

Life is Sa-weet!
I'm excited to share that I found a fun challenge site! It's called Taylored Expressions "Life is Sweet" You will find some sa-weet cards and the link to Taylor's sa-weet stamp store! I found her through Stampin' Sister's in Christ Challenge blog. She is this weeks sponsor and giving away some lovely Christmas stamps that I'm trying extremely hard not to covet after!! I would love to have them in my collection. So, I entered the challenge over at SSCC and maybe I'll win them, that would be so cool!! It's a random drawing so at least I have a chance!! Anyway, I checked out Taylor's store and blog and I just love her stuff!! So stinkin' cute. I don't know how stink and cute can be in the same sentence, but it is, what it is! Aww... American verbiage, you gotta love it!
Here is the recipe to my Thankful card:
Stamp: Harvest Expressions from Inkadinkadoo
Paper: Cardstock (card base : Bazzill) Sheen cardstock: Paper Accents; Pattern Paper: Creative Imaginations.
Ink: Stazon, Saddle Brown; Smooch : green (dots around the scallop circle)
Embellishments: Creative Imaginations, fall leaf brads
Tools: Punches: Marvy Uchida, scallop circle; EK Success: postage stamp; Cuddlebug, Diamond Plate folder; Crop-a-dile

We are having Fun on Friday!!
Hello!! It's FRIDAY!! WHO-HOO!! It's kinda my day off, but not really... I've got a lot of "catch up" work at the church since I was gone last weekend, plus finish up the Bible Study for the Gospel of John, and I have to work tomorrow at the lss. I'm filling in for a young mom who wants to watch her little one play soccer and then she wants to attend the crop at the store...so I said I would help out this way. So, I'm praying that the Lord will help me manage my time well, today! I got to squeeze in some time for laundry and running to Costco, too!! And you are probably thinking, then get off the computer!! I will, I promise! Just wanted to post this today and I probably won't be back on until this evening... maybe!!
So, here is the FUN ON FRIDAY CHALLENGE from CINDY at CHRISTIAN PAPER CRAFTS: Make a project using only one layer, one image, and one sentiment.
When uploading to the Christian Paper Crafts Gallery, please use keyword FOF27, and when uploading to your blog or other online communities, please use keyword CPC-FOF27.
I hope mine is okay even though I added a button on top of the ribbon, but it is only one button afterall!
Here's the recipe for the card:
Cardstock: Paper Accents; Ink: Stazon, jet black; Ribbon, BoBunny; Button, Foof-a-la; Prismacolor pencils, sienna brown, dark green, goldenrod; Smooch, Azure blue; Stamps: Image, Great Impressions, Sentiment: Inkadinkadoo (created by Lyn Dillin) both stamps are wood mounted.
Thanks for looking and have a wonderfully blessed day!

For God so loved... a Christmas card
I thought I'd get this posted tonight and then work on some more creations while the mood is still there!! Yikes I've been really lacking the creative incentive here lately, but I've been really busy with more needful things so it's all good! I managed to finish a card for the Sketch Tuesday (great sketch Alisa, thank you!!) at Christian Paper Crafts right before I had to leave for Bible Study tonight and after the grandbabies went home. This will also qualify for the Stampin' Sisters in Christ #9 challenge. I don't have very many stamps for Christmas, especially nativity themed ones, so this will have to do! Maybe I'll win the sets they are giving away from Taylored Expressions, wouldn't that be a blessing!
Here is a close-up of this stamped sentiment that I love. I've had it for awhile now, I purchased it at a locally owned store called Carl Johnson's, they have been slowly reducing their stamp and scrapbooking section.
Here is the recipe:
White cardstock for base (Bazzill)
With a blending tool I inked the whole outside of the card with Ranger Distress Ink: Worn Lipstick
I stamped two corners with Tim Holtz's "Artful Flight" set with Fired Brick Distress Ink from Ranger.
The scallop circle was punched with a Marvy Uchida punch, I blended it with "worn lipstick" and then stamped the Tim Holtz's stamp (Fired Brick) again only after blotting it so it would be more in the background and the sentiment would be more prominent. That stamp is from Uptown Rubber Stamps "God So Loved...";
The pattern paper is from Kaisercraft "Winter Wonderland" Let it Snow which is double-sided.
Joy and Hope stamps (Inkadinkadoo), I stamped with Stazon Black Cherry and inked edges;
Button (Foof-a-La); Snowflake punch (EK Success)
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. John 3:16

A Fun Color Challenge and Sketch
Boy am I behind on the posting, so sorry!! I'm trying to get back into the swing of things after being gone for the weekend. Playing catch up is what I'm doing this week and fighting a cough and just being worn out!! The little ones are content and so I thought I'd grab just a second to post our weekly color and sketch challenge from Christian Paper Crafts. Our fun colors this week are Pumpkin Pie, Bashful Blue and Barely Banana (CPC - CM-26) Don't forget to label your creations accordingly and I hope you'll let me know you've played along. I've been coming across a lot of fun sites for challenges and combining them as been a "challenge" there is even a site for that!!
Hope to be creating a card or something later on during nap times!! Until then have an awesome day! I hope to have time later to post a little about our women's retreat, the theme was "Joy" and we had a wonderful time of recharging and refreshing!
Here is a quote from one of the sessions

What's Stealing Your Joy?
I'm being a bit neglectful this week on my blog. I'm preparing for our women's retreat that is this weekend!! So much to finish up before I leave on Friday. But you can catch me over at Christian Paper Crafts for the Book Club. We are reading "Having a Mary Heart in a Martha World" by Joanna Weaver. I've been so surprised (although I shouldn't be) how this book is ministering to me, as I've been preparing for the retreat. God always knows what I need and when I need it!! Our theme is "Joy" and I'll be teaching a session about "Joy Stealers" and doing a fun (I hope!) craft session. So, if you don't see me for a few days that's what I'm up to, please keep me in prayer, I woke up this morning with a scratchy throat! Not good if I'm speaking to a group! I'm trusting the Lord to help me and heal me!
Take firm hold of instruction, do not let go; keep her, for she is your life. Proverbs4:13

BIBLE VERSE THURSDAY and FUN ON FRIDAY are the challenges that are ready for you to tackle (it's football season... ya know!) at CHRISTIAN PAPER CRAFTS Hopefully you can combine a couple of the challenges and have fun creating a unique card, altered item or possibly a scrapbook page. We missed posting SKETCH TUESDAY, but Alisa had some pressing family situations. Please keep her dad and the whole family in prayer, he's been battling cancer since the first of the year. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Alisa and her family....
BIBLE VERSE THURSDAY: Since ANGELLA'S been doing a lot of reflecting lately about where she's been and where the Lord is leading her, she would like to challenge us to do a project that is about reflections. For your project, you can interpret "reflection" in any way you like......make a scene with a reflection and add a verse, use a photo with a reflection, or choose any scripture which causes reflection within you. You may twist this any way you like....be as creative as you wish....and have fun!!
When uploading your project in our gallery, use the Keyword BVT26. If uploading to additional on-line galleries, please use the Keyword CPC-BVT26.
FUN ON FRIDAY: Today's challenge is to use an animal on your card.
When uploading your project in our gallery, use the Keyword FOF25. If uploading to additional on-line galleries, please use the Keyword CPC-FOF25.
