Love Lighthouses

Since I missed posting for PFF this week, I decided to show my lighthouse cards, which I really love each and every one of them. I think lighthouses are so fascinating. I hope to be able to visit some of them some day and climb all the stairs to get to the top.

Lighthouses of the Northsea in Belgium and the Netherlands. I received this great card from Gilles of Belgium.

This is a painting of a lighthouse and beach scene from Flora1 in Finland. I love this card, because I love the beach and seagulls and lighthouse. I love just walking along the beach feeling the sand between my toes and the water on my feet.

This is Nobska Lighthouse, Woods Hole, Cape Cod, Massachusetts. It's perhaps the most picturesque lighthouse on Cape Cod. It was built in 1828 and rebuilt in 1876. More than 30 thousand vessels pass by here annually. I got this card in a Round Robin from Evanscrew.

This card was 1st prize in a lottery from Whocares.

This is Boon Island Light in Maine, USA. It's the tallest lighthouse in Maine. It's 137 ft. and located 6.5 miles off shore. I received this card in a tag from Skype.

Postcard Friendship Friday

Since I'm actually posting today, on a Friday and it being Friendship Day, I think it's very appropriate to show some of the beautiful cards I have received from some of my friends from the 'GTKY' thread. They are a bunch of great girls and they've become very special friends to me.

These wonderful cards are from Lyan. She sent them in her first letter to me. The top one is of the 'Prophet's Holy Mosque' in Medinah. I absolutely love this card and it's very special to me for a lot of reasons. Thank you soooooo much Lyan.

The other card shows a beautiful dawn on the East Coast of Malaysia. Beautiful colors and I love palms and really miss seeing them now. Thanks Lyan for these wonderful cards.

This one is from Laura. She sent it to me in her first letter to me. She went to London in February and had a great time. I love the colors on this card. It's just beautiful. Thanks very much Laura!

These are from Valerie. One from her trip to Strasbourg. It's an UNESCO site and the other one is of the famous Fountain of Trevi in Rome, also from one of her recent trips. Thanks so very much Val for the wonderful cards and thinking of me!

South Africa

The Big Five - The call of the wild - and the prospect of viewing, particularly the Big Five - lures countless visitors to South Africa for a rare glimpse into the fascinating world of the bushveld.
I would love to go there some day and get a 'glimpse' at them and many more animals, which I know you can find there. That would be the ultimate for me, to go on a safari.

This is Johannesburg, Gauteng. Summertime in the City of Gold as lightning streaks across the night sky to the reverberance of distant thunder, to be followed by sudden squalls of wind and rain.

These are my only cards from South Africa thus far and I think they are a great addition to my collection. I received those from participating in a Round Robin. I love them!

Istanbul, Turkey

Pictured here is the Bosphorus Bridge, which connects the Asian and European sides of Istanbul. The Ortakoy Mosque sits on the edge of the European side.


This is the famous Blue Mosque in Istanbul.
I absolutely love both of these cards. They are just beautiful. I've participated in several Round Robins these last few months and received both of these awesome cards from Ctrekoza.
