Constellation Pendant

By Cathy Andrews, you can find the tutorial in Beadwork-Magazine December 2017. My ladies here call it a “Fish”, for me it is more a medal.

The pendant is now waiting for its crochet rope.

Set "Aroha"

Finally, it is time to follow up on my last cruise.

I had the opportunity to accompany the “AIDAcara“ on a part of its world tour. My part brought me from San Antonio in Chile over the Easter Island, Tahiti, Bora Bora and New Zeeland to Sydney. If you take a look at the route, you will see, that we passed a lot of time at sea.

Therefore, I prepared a lot of projects, some needing a lot of time like the “Double Oglala”.
One of the special projects is the set “Aroha“. The name is a word of the Maori and means “Love“.

Because we were travelling shortly before Christmas, I thought, that something sparkling was the right idea. So, I bezeled Rivolis of different sizes with peanut-beads.

Sadly, my design was not as liked as I thought. They liked the earrings and the chain of the necklace but not the pendant.

Petite Couronne Pendant

It doesn’t happen very often now, but when I opened the last issue of Beadwork-Magazine and saw this pendant, I knew, I had to bead it.

Once again it’s a brilliant pattern by Alice Coelho.

Mildred´s Cross

These instructions by Beading4perfectionists were a birthday present from a friend. Therefore we had to try it together.
I did not like the colours of the example so I chose my own colours. Here is the result:

The instructions contain 13 pages with many photographs. Unfortunately, you first have the descriptions of four photographs and beneath that those four photographs in one row, which is  a bit confusing. When you know, what you are doing, it is manageable.
Although every step is explained, there are some mistakes in the instructions. The most important is the last element of the cross.
I also changed the beginning of the Herringbone-strap because my start looks neater.
However, I find the design of this pendant ingenious. By now I wear it on a long crochet rope.

Noor Pendant

This pendant by Riana Olckers has been on my to-do list for a long time. Finally I did it.

Unfortunately the picture does not show the real brightness of the used colours.

For some steps I had to change the sizes of the beads, because with the ones mentioned in the pattern there was to much thread still visible.

The last project of this trip is a little pendant with the shape of a Easter bunny.

Aladdin’s Lamp

Arabia, these also are the Fairy Tales of Thousand and One Night. Along these lines I have designed this pendant.

Aladdin’s Lamp looks especially beautiful when a Rivoli with a strong colour is used.

Minions

Last Wednesday my grandchildren finally got there christmas presents. Now I can show you the both Minions I crocheted.

This is Stuart, who lives now with our grandson Nicolás.
Bob stays with Valerie.

Both are crocheted with seed beads 15° and 42 beads per round.

Morning Glory

This pattern by Ellad2 is ingenious. Unfortunately the amounts for the Delicas and the seed beads are not correct. I needed more than specified.

Coronation Day

This is also something from the Beadwork Magazine August 2014. From the "Coronation Day Necklace" by Evelina Palmontová I made only the pendant and I pimt the backside.

The backside is made like the frontside without the bicones.

Aurora-Pendant

For quite a long time this pendant by Ellad2 has been resisting me because the Rivoli did not want to fit in the bezel. I had to bead very loose.

The mentioned amounts for the seed beads are not correct. I needed more.

The Lukas' „New Engine“

Lukas is an engine driver in a puppet play that I loved when I was a child.
Preparing the Christmas decoration I found the wooden pendants for the Christmas tree, my children liked very much. Among these is an engine and suddenly I had the idea to bead one. I could not get this idea out of my head and so I started beading. Here you see the new engine of Lukas:

It has about 7 x 3 x 5 cm.

I used seed beads size 8, 11 and 15 and Rivolis 14 and 10 mm.

Winston, the reindeer

For a long time I refused to bead Christmas Ornaments but now I have fallen in love with Winston, the reindeer. Look yourself, please:

You can find the wonderful, correct instructions here: www.threadabead.com
Actual the filling of his tummy is a glass bauble of 30mm. I had no one, so my Winston has a 30mm cotton wool ball in his paunch.

Sharona

I bought some spike-beads and when I wanted to use them, I did not like any of the patterns I had at home. So they were on the way to a box in the deep of my cupboard, when I saw the instructions for the pendant “Sharona” by Beadworx Studio. It is the first time that I actually like the use of the spike-beads.

Also the bezeling of the rivoli with Superduos is genius.

Twisted

Last year my son asked me, if I would beta-bead his pattern. I did it and I forgot, that the photographs are still waiting to be shown.

The instructions are from Christoph Vogel and you find them in the magazine "Perlenpoesie Nr. 18".

I am afraid, I do not remember, what colours I used.

Laksmi-Pendant

I found this pendant in the book "Classical Elegance" from Maggie Meister.
I changed it a bit and put it on a crochet rope.
