Shop news...

These gorgeous new ribbons came in today.
Country French Floral on Blue Linen

I'm like a kid ripping the boxes open!

Vintage French Floral Linen

You see I have a ribbon addiction, always have. That is why I had to start selling my inventory.

French Script in Grey on Linen

I couldn't possibly use all of the ribbons I have bought over the years.  But I have found that many of you (all over the world) love ribbon too and the selection in your local craft stores are just not that great.

So, I get to buy more ribbon!

New Custom Monogrammed Tassels

I recently had the opportunity to create something for a wedding gift basket that was being given to famous Bachelor couple - Jason and Molly.  A friend of mine was attending the wedding - how lucky was she!!!
So, I decided to make a monogrammed tassel for them.

This had inspired me to start creating some for my boutique. I just listed this new design.

You can request a different design, colors, and even add an important date to the front or back of the tassel. These make great gifts for bridal showers, weddings, anniversaries, babies, birthdays, new home, etc.
I will be adding new styles in the future. They're just so much fun to make.
A great idea for the person who has everything!

It's a Tassel Party

It's So Very Cheri is hosting a tassel party today. Here are a sample of some of mine. I love making these little pieces of art!

This is my newest one...

Using silk blossoms, metal findings and crystals...
Decoupage and german glass glitter...
Hand painted, my favorite ones to work on...
More with rose blossoms and metal filagree...
Hand painted...
Hand painted and chandelier crystals...
Tassels make the best gifts especially for those who have "everything". Hope I've inspired you to create some of your own special tassels. I also sell my little creations on my website or etsy shop. I don't have many available right now as they sell pretty quickly but I'm working hard on making some more so check back if you "need" a tassel of your own!

Don't forget to stop by the Tassel Show and Tell party for more inspiration!

Embossed Wallpaper

I love this stuff. I bought this huge roll years ago and I'm still not tired of creating with it! That's unusual for me.

It's such a pretty and simple background between glass for a sepia or black and white photo. I'd love to do a collection of these on a wall.

Here is the shape I use to make my holiday cones (to be added to my shop this week)...filled with creamy white glittered hydrangeas, and fastened with an old white button from grandma's collection (yes, I'm still creating with them- I still have cookie tins full!)

Friday Feature - Gift Wrap Ideas

Don't you just love a beautifully wrapped package. One of my dreams is to have a wrapping station where I can have all of my supplies right at my fingertips to wrap a present. My inspiration for these ideas come from the book Presentations, which I have posted about before. So many great ideas in there! So I was getting carried away with wrapping tonight so I had a good number of pics to share with you. I only wish I had some actual gifts to wrap instead of empty boxes.

Let's talk about the embellishments, even though the paper is important too, what we add to it is my favorite part. These gorgeous ribbon swatches are just so pretty. I love the colors. These are dupioni silk ribbons, which are my present favorite.

Gather up some faux or fresh floral stems, berries, leaves and twigs.

Recycled greeting cards make great gift tags. You can even embellish these with paint and glitter. Just crop them to the right size.

Your embellishmets can also be part of the gift. Here a clip on bird's nest ornament sits on top of this little box wrapped in a nature inspired paper with raffia ribbon, pine needles and a berry pick.

You will see lots of florals in my gift wrap. They can be inexpensive, but they really do add so much to a package. The floral blossom can be sprayed or dipped in glitter too. You can also choose fresh blossoms. Just use a water tight floral pick, found at your florist shop, and your flower will not wilt on the package (that wouldn't be so pretty).

For this one, I just used some gold tissue paper on the box and added an ornament, sheer ribbon, a tassel and berry pick

Now, the paper on this package is just brown kraft paper, which I sprayed with some bronze paint. This color I have been using a lot of lately. I also sprayed the preserved lemon leaves you see on the package.

I have also added a doily, which is gathered and secured with an old pearl clip on earring. Jewelry is another great element to use in your gift wrap.

Some blue hydrangea blossoms add a touch of color on this pretty package.

Here, the box is wrapped in plain white tissue and a sheer gold ribbon is added with a leaf spray, purple rose and a chandelier crystal ornament for that needed sparkle!

I love this damask wrap and the ribbon is so rich too. A gift too nice to open I think! Some glittered hydrangeas and sparkly gold stems are just the right touch for this pattern

This beautiful angel tag is a recycled card, just cut with a fancy edge.

This one is definitely one of my favorites. It's that bronze sprayed paper again with pink silk ribbon and the perfect pink rose with a crystal branch.

I just love this color combination!
Hopefully this feature has inspired you to be creative with your gift wrap this holiday season.

Friday Feature - Christmas Decorating

There seems to be a ton of glitter in this year's Christmas decorations and I love it! Can you tell? This front hall display is done in cream and white, silver and gold. It's fun to create little vignettes in places like these.
If you have evergreens on your property, just cut some of the branches and place them around your home. This little garland of greenery looks pretty over a mirror. And if you spray your greens with a little glitter, even better! A few hanging ornaments look great too.

This Snowman looks at home among the sparkling white feather trees!

Inside this urn, I placed a bunch of sparkling sprays of beaded greens and added some glistening hydrangeas around the perimeter. These hydrangeas are a silvery blue. Goes beautifully with the silver and creams.

Birds are very popular for all seasons as well. This chippy cast iron cutie looks perfect!

I love to add tons of flowers to my Christmas trees. This tree was done very simply with white lights, burgandy and pink roses, green paper hydrangeas, and some green berries. I also had some greenery stems that I never liked. The color was too bright and they really "looked fake". So I just sprayed them lightly with white spray paint and they add the perfect contrast to the dark green tree. Just what it needed! They look like they have been touched by the snow! And of course they were also sprayed with a little opal glitter.

Now here is something new I have been working on. They are Embellishing kits for your Christmas wreath or garland. I am creating clip on sprays for you to attach to your own base. I thought it would be great to have that fresh greenery wreath, but to add some really pretty embellishments that you can take off at the end of the season and reuse next year! You start out with your own wreath as shown above. This one is a mixed green and came with some pinecones.

And here is the wreath with my Embellishments! This one has glittered cream hydrangeas, some sparkly gold branches and a beautiful wine and gold colored ribbon. I am trying to come up with some ways to make your holiday decorating easier!

You can also use them to dress up a plain garland.

It's so simple!

You can also add some extra flowers and these star ornaments look beautiful too!

This is another color combination. Hydrangea Gold.

This one comes with one large spray and three small ones. All have a clip on the back. These can also be used to dress up your gift wrap or how about attached to your curtain tiebacks?

Here is the hydrangea gold on a garland with some added pink roses, gold finial ornaments and hanging crystal ornaments too!
