Thinking of You AHSC Sketch # 540

Had this post all ready and forgot to publish it and link it to my own sketch.....opps.  As the creator and owner I am allowed to link up late......lol.

I really liked the simplicity of this sketch, and I wanted to use the current SOTM to create this card.  I had some scraps left over from the workshop we did at our Virtual Convention, and seeing as the new catalogs are starting at the end of the week I felt that I could share some sneaks of the patterns.  I used The Good Life paper and the August SOTM, Goodbye Isn't Forever.

For this card I matted White Daisy on top of Habour and then attached to the card base.  Then I chose 2 patterns and Mist Cardstock for my laters.  The tag is cut from Toffee and I stamped the tree and clouds in 2nd generation Habour and the sentiment in Habour.  I dug through my stash and found from Bronze Sequins from a few years ago.

I hope you will take a few moments to check out the rest of the design teams creations.

Birthday Card for AHSC # 538

Two weeks in a row.....I hope I can keep being creative, as I found myself in a bit of a rut earlier this year, and I really struggled to get back to crafting.

This week's sketch #538 had me stumped on what I wanted to create, I walked away from my supplies for an hour and then it hit me.  I wanted to do some ink blotches on an embossed image.  So I went digging into my stash of embossing folders and found this beautiful flower folder.  I used 3 Distress Oxides and smeared them on my all purpose mat and then sprayed the inks with water.  I really wanted the colours to blend together.

I cut the embossed image apart into 6 pieces and adhered it to a White Daisy Mat that I doodled along the edges.  The card base and the sentiment mat is Habour Card Stock.  The colour inks I used were Candied Apple, Mustard Seed, and Spiced Marmalade.  I used Silver Glitter Gems that I coloured in with a Dark Blue marker.  I like that the image is mainly what picked up the inks, but because I sprayed them with water, that they inks bleed.  It gives it a more water coloured look.

AHSC Sketch # 537 - Thanks for Everything

It's been way to long since I posted on my blog.  Life has been keeping me extremely busy, work, kids, household issues(like my bedroom ceiling collapsing). I've been creating, just never got around to posting.

So here we go.....today's post is for Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge using Sketch # 537.  For those of you who might not know but I'm the Host and Creator of the sketches used on this Sketch Blog.  I've been saying to Brandi that I really must start creating using my sketches again, and so here I am.

My creation for this weeks sketch is using papers found in 2 of our retired Mix-In collections.  This sketch is really a great way to use up any scraps that you have lying around.  I used a stamp from a Create With Heart Cardmaking subscription for my sentiment, inked in Sapphire and then I doodled around the sentiment.

Thank you for visiting my blog and I hope you will check out the rest of the design team creations, by clicking on the link here: Design Team, you will be able to see their creations.

Welcome to our Stamp of the Month Blog Hop!

I am so excited to be creating again, I've missed creating projects for this Blog Hop, but my life was a little hectic for a bit, and now that things are leveling out I'm testing my skills but creating with our April SOTM.

Our April's SOTM, Message in a Bottle,  is a set of 21 stamps and features a great collection of bottles.   LOL, who would of guessed that?

If you have come here from Melinda Everitt's blog, you are on the right path! The blog hop is a great big circle, so you can start here and work your way all around.  If you get lost along the way, you’ll find the complete list of participating consultants on Melinda’s Blog

For my project I started my stamping the string of stars multiple times.  I coloured them using our Spectrum Noir TriBlend Markers.  My frame is created using scraps of cardstock in multiple colours glued down to a sheet of plain cardstock.  I then used the largest of the Rectangle Frame Thin cuts.  I think this is a fun way to add pops of colour to projects.  Finally, I had to add some sparkle, and decided to randomly add little specks of adhesive to the card front, then using the Gold mini Stars I covered the glue creating this fun look.

Now "Hop" on over to Wendy Kessler's blog to see her work! Be sure to visit all the Consultants at their Blogs to get some great crafting ideas and other fun ideas! I used Pumpkin Spice Scrapbooking stamp set and coloured the images in using a watercolour brush and 2 of our new colours, Harbour and Papaya. The frame is cut using the rectangle frame thin cuts. For my project for tonight's blog hop I played with the Pumpkin Spice paper, Papaya and Harbour Cardstock as well as the Papaya, Harbour and Shortbread inks.  The Sweater is from the Pumpkin Spice Scrapbooking stamp set and was coloured using ink pads and the medium waterbrush.  I squeezed ink into the bottom of the ink pad and used the waterbrush to pick up colour. By using this technique I was able to control the intensity of the colour on the sweater by creating much different tones.  I tore the cardstock to create a fun look and used the sentiment from For All Occassions found in our Core Catalog.

For my project this month I decided to create a slimline card using Paprika CS for my mat and then I created my own background paper using Mustard Seed and Spiced Marmalade Distress Oxide Inks.  Before I inked up I heat embossed Grateful in Clear Embossing Powder for a emboss resist technique.  After I inked up the white CS I just wasn't happy with the embossing, so I embossed the word using White embossing powder.  This really raised the sentiment up much more and I like the effect.  For You is stamped in Black ink and then I doodled along the edges.  For a finishing touch I grabbed the new Autumn Sequins for my embellishments.

I started with Nectarine Cardstock for my base page and used Black Shimmer Brush to create a splattering across the page.  I used 4 of the patterns, Ballerina, Black and Wild Berry(sneak peak of a new colour) Cardstock.  I used lots of stickers from the sticker sheet, a zipstrip and added some Wild Berry Enamel Dots to finish the page.  The pattern I used to create this fun layout is from the Make It From Your Heart Volume 5, pattern 16.

If you came from Brae's Blog then you are in the right place!

For my project I used the stamp set & thin cut You're Pawsome along with the Mix In paper . I have a new kitten and she is grey and black so I just had to colour this cute fluff ball the same. I took some twine that I had laying about and rolled it up in glue and then adhered it to the kitten's paw. I wanted this card to be simple so for the sentiment I stamped on a piece of white daisy CS and then flagged the one edge. The kittens are coloured using the Spectrum Nior TriBlend Ice Grey Blend.

If you came from Joanne's Blog then you are in the right place!

I created 3 cards using backgrounds that I had created.  One is using Gloss Acrylic Spray, one Distress Oxides and the last one is using watercolour paints.

This first card I used a sprayed background using Ocean Gloss Spray.  The Butterfly is from our National Scrapbooking Month special.  It has 3 layers.  The 1st is White CS, the end is a watercolour creation the top layer is the Dreamy Holographic Paper.  I added Steel Stickles for embellishment. The sentiment is from Shoot for the Moon.  See the next image for a close up of the layers and holographic paper.

The 2nd card I created I used a Distress Oxide background and the Shoot for the Moon stamp set.

The final card I made is using a watercoloured paint background.  I placed 3 different colours of paint onto our large block and dragged the paper over top of the paint.  Then I stamped the images and sentiment in black ink.  The stamp set is Floral Borders & Sentiments.

I had so much fun created these cards to share with you.  They are so very different from most things I've shared with you in the past.

For this first card I used watercolour paints that I applied to the large acrylic block in a rainbow, I think used White Cardstock and drug it across the top of the paints.  Next I used the new Sunburst Thin Cut on White Daisy Cardstock to lay overtop the watercolours.  The little chick and sentiment is from the So Tweet Stamp and Thin Cut set.

These 2 cards are using the Floral & Sentiments stamp set.  I used a combination of Spectrum Noir TriBlend markers and other marker in my collection to colour the images.  I love them both.

Finally, the final card is using our watercolour pencils on the Distress Watercolour paper, I then used the Moments With You Stamp and Thin Cut set to create the card, the embellishments is the Black enamel dots.

This first card I used 2 of the the Bestie series stamps, Oliva and Lucy.  I created the backgrounds using stencils and ink, and acrylic gloss sprays.  The balloons are coloured with Shimmer Brushes.  Too finsh off the card I added some White Dots.

For this card I used Smoothie cardstock for the cardbase, and the multi-window thin cut as a layer.  The pattern under the thin cut is a embossing folder that I inked with Smoothie to give it a soft appearance.  I used Snuggle Up stamp and thin cut set for the images and a sentiment from a well used sentiment set.  Finally, the card is finished by adding some coloured clear sparkles.

This card was inspired by a card I seen created by a fellow maker.  I inked up white cardstock with Mowed Lawn Distress Oxide and used the Floral Thin Cut.  The stamp set is the Daisy Meadows scrapbooking set.  I used the Stitched Scallop Brackets for the sentiment.  Markers used with Coral Blend and Alpine Green Blend.

This card also uses the Daisy Meadows Scrapbooking set, along with the paper from that collection.  The sentiment is actually printed on cardstock from my printer......when you don't have the sentiment, use your computer/printer.

My final card is using the stamp set Cherry Blossoms.  I used the Lattice thin cut for the background.  I hand cut the cherry blossoms.  Finally I added gold glitter gems to finish it off....simple, delicate and lovely.
