What’s happening in the studio this week: lots of watercolor, demonstrations, and a new ranunculus painting! Summer always makes me want to paint with watercolor. I have been painting roses purely for fun lately, which is a huge change of pace from all of the classes I’ve been teaching lately. Almost every new work, I start with children: they help me work on the initial layer of the painting. For me, it’s a technical layer, and for them, it’s an opportunity to contribute to creating something great and important.
