Teaching #mainidea and supporting details during #sharedreading and #writing in #secondgrade . The main idea is the “point” of the text, just like the cone has a point! Each detail is a scoop of ice cream. If you have too many scoops your ice cream starts falling apart (just like your writing). You also want scoops of ice cream that go together (all details on topic). Great analogy to help students understand! 🍦Project and Trace anchor chart template from @SweetFirstieFun on TPT Main Idea And Supporting Details Anchor, Key Ideas And Details Anchor Chart, Main Idea Anchor Chart 1st, Topic And Details Anchor Chart, Main Idea Ice Cream Cone Anchor Chart, Main Idea Details Anchor Chart, Text Connections Anchor Chart, Main Idea And Details Anchor Chart, Supporting Details Anchor Chart
