c. 1810-1820 French Gentleman's Suit. Coat made of green wool, quilted chest panels, deep armseyes, paler green lining.  The lapels are made with sharp M notches.  The back is a narrow kite-shape.  The pocket flaps are decorative. The coat is heavily patched and repaired.  The fall-front breeches are of soft white leather (c.1800-1810) with bone buttons, the lower legs with extenders for wearing inside boots.  The waistcoat is made of striped 1780's velvet (c.1800).
