Michael Bernard Kelly
I am an educator, writer, activist and retreat leader who has a passionate interest in the interweaving of contemporary gay/queer experience with the wisdom, insights, practices and heritage of Christian spirituality. I am especially interested in re-imagining the Christian mystical tradition through, and for, the lives of contemporary people. I am Australian, but I have travelled and lectured extensively in the USA. I am currently an Adjunct Research Associate in the Centre for Religious Studies at Monash University, Melbourne, Australia. I hold a PhD from Monash. A revised version of my doctoral thesis has been published by Routledge UK, with the title "Christian Mysticism's Queer Flame: Spirituality in the Lives of Contemporary Gay Men.
