Check out the Booty

It is Hippity Hoppity Time at the  Bombshell Stamps Blog. If you arrived from Allison's blog you are going great. If not, then head on over to the Bombshell Stamps Blog to make sure you don't miss a THING.. The theme this month is "Shiver me Timbers". Now... I could go really raunchy on that one, but I decided to keep it PG (you see bare back in this one - GASP).  When I think of Pirates, I think of Romance Novels, and the clinch poses on Johanna Lindseys Gentle Rogue. Since I don't have a Fabio Bombshell Stamp (Hmmmm that would be fun to have hint hint) I had to go in a different direction.

I do have this lovely Mermaid Treasure stamp set!!! And I thought YAY... I will do up a mermaid and show off her stuff.
I colored her up using my Copics. I used a ton of them!!!  She was primarily colored with BG10, 11, 13, 15 and YG11. For her skin E0000, 000, 00 and her hair E11, 13, 15, 17. I added some Star gelly roll in areas to give her some sparkle.

Both she and the treasure chest are cut out after they were colored. I used gold and champagne stickles for the gold.

The background is all airbrushed. YAY!!!! I had fun with that. (And it allows me to enter iCopic Challenge #36 HEE HEE). I used E30, 31, 33 for the sand, BG02, 05, 07, 09. The sky is YR00, RV00, BV00 then B21, 24, 26. The moon is white Inkprintz Ink stamped on and then embossed with white EP.

For a close up of her I have her to the right... Isn't she cute. After the airbrushing and placing her in the water, I added a couple of fish from the same stamp set. YAY.

Now, why don't you HOP on over to Kelli's blog!

If you get LOST on the way - you can always head back to the Bombshell Stamps blog to find your way.

Hope you have fun with this hop !!!

Krafty Krafts!

Hey there y'all. I have had a faboo weekend. Friday was my daughters 12th birthday and we had a blast at the Melting Pot. Saturday we went to The Dinner A'fare with my daughter and my mom and made up 6 meals each for Mom and Dad and for us girls for the next few days. My 12 year old had a blast and we cooked the first meal tonight and it came out great.

I did do quite a bit of crafting, but some of it has to wait a while... since one is for the Bombshell Blog hop on Wednesday and the other is for a special post on Sunday showcasing the new Bombshell Stamping Goodness!!! Yes Bombshell stamps has some AWESOME Asian themed stamps and profits from the sale of these sets go to help the Japan relief fund.

I did get this card completely finished. I am entering into both the Flourishes Timeless Tuesday challenge, and the Sketch Saturday Challenge. I would have entered the ICopic challenge, but alas I was late. :-( BOO.

I used a Kraft cardstock that I had and cut it up to make the center square and the tag with the Sentiment. The DP is Graphic 45, and the copic colors used were YG61, 63, 67 and E23, 25, 27. The eggs are colored with light blue spica, then dark blue spica then gone over with the light blue again to pread out the dark blue.   The very center piece is not a cut out piece of Kraft cardstock. I had the image all done, and it just looked lonely. So I cut out a lacey square with the Nesties, and then cut the center and one edge of it off. YAY... showoff box. :-)

The flowers are Glimmer Misted, and little buttons added to their centers. I used the same DP for the edge "ribbons".

Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope you come back again on Wednesday during the Bombshell Blog hop (I may have some pretties before that, but I definitely will have some then!!).

Dreams and Wishes

Hey everyone. I wish a few things right now... I wish there wasn't a storm running through here giving me a headache. I wish that my stomach was back to normal from its bout with a virus, and I dream about winning the lottery. Unfortunately none of those are coming true tonight.

But, I did have the good fortune to be able to color up the wonderful new release from Flourishes yesterday and make these cards.

The cards were colored up with YG21, 13, 15 and 67, Y11, 21, 23, 26, 28, and a little YG 91 and 93 under the pillow.  I used the DCWV Lemon Flower paper pad for the background paper and CoreDinations for the green paper. The oval Nesties, had silver stickles applied to them to match the silver on the paper. I used a gold ribbon to match the gold in the coloring.
I LOVE how these turned out. Now I am going to head upstairs and take some meds to make me sleep through the night and dream some more about winning that lottery!!!!

See you soon!

SCREAM

Hey all, Here is a really quick post for a card I want to enter into the Outlines Ribbon and Bows challenge this week. The first design team I was on was the Outlines design team for 2010. It was a new team, but I made a Blog Buddy on that team (Hey Terrie!!!), and I learned a lot and had a great time. As all good things, this one came to an end for me at the end of the year, but my love of the Outlines stamps did not. It has been a while since I have picked one up and made something with it, and this challenge sang out to me. I started looking through my stamps and this one screamed at me to use it.  Maybe because I so want to be on vacation right now and I am not.
I used Palm Tree Square and stamped it three times - once on white, once on blue and once on yellow.  I colored up the white one with my copics, and then cut out the inside square. I layered the three. The white background was stamped with another stamp from them that I CANNOT for the life of me remember which one it is. I stamped it with versafine and clear embossed.

Now for the sad part for me, because I used a sentiment that is not Outlines, but Art Impressions, I know I am not eligible for the challenge prize. However, it said exactly how I feel... "It's been Lovely..." and the inside finishes it "But Now I have to Scream!" So I had to use it. I linked up anyway, just cuz... :-)

Thanks for stopping by, and I hope you come back again soon.

Fathers Day 2011

Isn't this little dude so cute.????  I found him over at the Paper Shelter, and I just fell in love with him. I decided to make this card for my father for Fathers Day. I think it makes it even better that he is using sewing paraphenalia to defend the world. For me it is funny because my Mom quilts, and so their house is covered in the stuff. :-)

I used my Copics to color him up. THe greens are YG11, 13, 17, and the purples are V12, 15, 17. I feathered the two together and then I added a little bit of dotting using purple and green multiliner brush pens. The skin I did up in my standard E0000, E000, E00 scheme with R20 as the blush. I used brown .01 multiliner to add freckles. I also used the green multiliner brush to add lines on the feather. The "white" was done with B0000, B000, and then I added Copic White to spots on his teeth and then also on the glove. The greys are cool greys (C0, 1, 3, 5 and 7).

Now... for this one the coloring was SO EASY compared to the rest of it. This is unusual, because hey - - the card seems simple right? SURE. RIGHT. Well some of you know already from my post on Facebook that my Cuttlebug exploded. YES, you read that correctly - it EXPLODED. I did not do anything other than try to cut out the flower petals with the quilling dies... I couldn't get a good cut. I tried it several times. I added a shim. Tried it, added a slightly thicker shim, tried it... still not cutting completely. So I got rid of the 3 paper shims (standard cardstock), and tried it one more time with a standard manilla folder I had cut in half.  About 1/4 of the way through - BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMMM!!!!!

The left side (side without the handle) Flew off and the top blew upward and it scared my husband to death. We tried putting it back together. Yay - it popped back in...but as you cranked , the top came back up and there was no pressure. We tried and tried, and nope... and finally the gears were making a horrid sound, and we just said BLECK.  So I went out and got a Grand Calibur. Popped the dies in and it cut oh so sweetly. And I was FINALLY able to make the flower. YAY.

So there is the story of my card, and the death of a Cuttlebug. I am entering it into the Paper Shelter Challenge for Punches and Dies. I think I earned every bit of this one!!!!!

Have a great rest of the weekend and next week. See you back here soon I hope!

Happy Birthday Dear HUBBY!!!!

So, I had trouble trying to figure out what to make for my hubby for his birthday. He really likes the Bombshells, so I thought I would make this card up - - Plus they are so much fun to color... So honey - DON"T look below until after you get the card!!!!

This was actually a pretty simple card to put together. After I colored up the Bombshell (psssst there is a tutorial on how I colored her and her hose on the Bombshell Blog today), I stamped the image a couple additional times onto some red cardstock and some zebra print adhesive cardstock. I cut out the entire shoe (minus the straps) out of the zebra print and adhered it to the non colored image on the white cardstock. Then I cut out the red portions and used some zig glue to stick it to the sole and heel of the shoe and the straps.

The image I used was Girls Ruin from Bombshell, and the sentiment is from one of the digi dress up sets called Evening Bombshell. I really love how the zebra print turned out with the red accents. She is one hot lady!!!

Edited to add - I am entering this in the Copic Creations Doodling Challenge. The lace on her bra, and hose along with the lacey ruffles on the top of both were added with a Brush Multiliner! I had meant to include that but realized I had forgotten when I went to enter her. GASP.
Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have an awesome weekend.

Peacock Butterflies

Here today for the June Bombshell Pin-up challenge. Ms June - Emily - has challenged us to release our inner WILD THING and use animal prints on the project.

I had all sorts of things in my mind with zebra print, and leapord print, but ended up with peacock feathers!
I used the DCWV English Garden paper that had a paper with strips of different designs, two of which had this beautiful peacock strips in it. I then took the Butterfly Queen Butterflies and stamped them on some other paper - cream and royal blue with Versamark. I then embossed with detail gold.  I did this several times and layered some of them using dimensional adhesive to give them a flight look. I also stamped the sentiment from Rise and Shine on a cream cut out shape and also embossed this with the detail gold. I finished it up with a few gold beads... and Voila - Peacock Butterflies!

Now head on over to the Bombshell Stamps Blog and check out all of the other wild creations they have in store for you... And if you enter the challenges, you have a chance to win some rubber. I love winning rubber don't you???!!!

OK, that is it for today... but come on back later this week. With Hubby's birthday, Fathers day and me having gotten a bunch of new stamps lately, I am looking forward to a lot of creativity!!!!

A Rose by Any Other Name...

I got new Bombshell Rubber in - YAY. I got the gorgeous Rose's Portrait in and couldn't wait to color her up.
So, this is my first take on this image. I had so much fun coloring her up. I loved turning her into a blonde Bombshell. The roses on the bottom and top are from Recollections at Michaels, and were a little too peachy, so I added some red to them with the R24 and 27 copic, and then a little diamond Stickles.

She is colored up with the Copics in the following colors:
Y21, 23, 26, 28
R20, 22, 24, 27, 29,
G21, 24, 28
B12, 14, 16, 18
E50, 51, 53, R20. I used a gelly roll star pen for the glitter on the earring and the gold portion of the shawl. The fringe is gold spica, and the roses and eyes / eye shadow have clear spica on them.

Thanks for stopping by. Hope to see you back here again!!!

One last super quick Challenge Card!

I made this card SOOOooooo fast. I didn't have but a few minutes from when I got off work and when it was due, but I tried.

This is following the Flourishes Sketch provided on Wednesday.

I used antique linen distress ink to distress it and Versafine brown for the stamped images. Thanks. WHEW!

See you later this weekend!

Pretty in Pink

Wow - Two posts in one day. This is going to be a quickie.  This is for the Flourishes Release Challenges Pretty in Pink. This is about as clean and simple as they come IMO.
I cut out the white paper with the Nesties. While still in the Nesties, I used the Sweet Peas stamp set and stamped in Rose Bud several times. Then I used the Rose Bud and a dauber and sponged the ink on... again while still in the Nestie. Then I took it out and clear embossed. I then took the sentiment stamped it with versafine, and clear embossed that. Mounted it all, added a ribbon and done.

Not sure I like everything about it, but I do like the pink on pink with the stamped image and the sponging.

Thanks for stopping by again. Now I need to go to bed.  BYE!

Flourishes Release Week Challenge

Have you all seen some of the sneak peeks over at Flourishes this week. WOW. They are so cute. I must have them. So I am going to try to win them!! How will I do that, By entering their challenges this week. And first up is their Release week challenge to show off the colors of your flag.
I looked at my stuff, and I thought about Strawberries, and flowers, but I kept coming back to this image. I know it is a Christmas wreath and would typically be colored up in the colors of the Christmas season, but I kept picturing a red, blue and silver wreath. What was really cool about this is it gave me some extra practice on trying to make balls look 3D. Now after I colored it up and mounted it, I realized that now the light is coming from the bottom. LOL...

Reds are R22, 24, 27, 29, 39 - overcolored with clear spica
Blues are B21,23,24,26 - overcolored with clear spica
Silver - C00, C1, and a little R22 and B21 to try to get some light reflection (not sure how well that worked out for me- I think I need more practice). I then used a Star gelly roll pen to overcolor the silver balls.

Thanks for stopping by. If I can get another one done, I am going to try to do the Pink challenge... or see what tomorrows challenge is. I mean really I would LOVE to win these sets. LOL.

See you Soon.

It is so very cool. I stretched myself with this. I say stretched because the card is big - even for me!!!!! I used the Man's Ruin stamp Set and colored it up with Copics. (Sorry I don't remember the colors as I colored her up a few days ago and forgot to write them down.)

Once I had her colored up, I used Crystal Effects to make the glass shine, and bubbles all bubbly. The paper is Basic Grey. I outlined different areas with black multiliner. The oval cut out image, the paper , the paper ribbon across the card on top and bottom.

Head on over to the Bombshell Blog and tke a gander at what all the other Bombshells have to show you this month. You have a chance to win some free goodies, and best of all Have some FUN!!!!
