Villandry

Last week we went to walk in the gardens of the Chateau de Villandry. Winter is not the best season to go there but the weather was nice and sweet, it was very nice. As I had forgotten my camera, I could test my new phone taking these pictures...
Have a nice weekend!

look at them

Hope you had a good and happy Christmas. It was not too bad for me ;)

This is a song I listen very often at this time.
It's Jeanne Added (she's french). I saw her in concert last summer, it was very nice.

this morning

hi

One morning last week, there was a nice light around 7:45.
I took the opportunity to take two pictures from the window of my office at home: my daughter waiting for her bus to school and a close up of church roof in the mist.
Have a nice week :)

last readings

It was the first time I read a book by the French author Éric Reinhardt. I liked this educated and intelligent woman's story who lives with a nagging husband but never manages to get away from him despite her dreams, desires and her meetings.

The Jane Austen novel is not my favorite but it was still nice to read it.

The two latest books are novels for teens (I enrolled in a reading jury at my daughter's school). I really love the first one "Les jumeaux de l'île Rouge" (in english: The twins of the red island). It's a story about twins adopted by French in Madagascar. At the time of adolescence, they return for the first time in this country they don't know...

autumn stroll

We regularly do bike rides along the Loire. I already posted almost the same photos I think... my daughter and her bike were just much smaller :)
Cold arrived last Saturday but when the weather is sunny, it's not a problem for me.

I'll try to post more regularly if not, I am afraid that this blog will not survive!

reading

These are my last readings. I realize that I read less lately ... I don't know why.
In fact I haven't finished the book "Doppler" by Erlend Loe. I have not been captivated by this story. I lent the book to my mother and she liked it and even laughed...
I enjoyed this book by Philippe Djian is happening in the world of music.
I loved the book of Julian Fellowes which dives us into the customs of the British aristocracy of the early and mid-twentieth century through an investigation conducted by an elderly gentleman...
And finally, the latest novel by Jon Kalman Stefansson,
one of my favorite authors (my favorite?).
Last September, I was really happy because he came to Tours in a bookstore, talking about his new novel. I bought his book and he signed me, I was happy as a true fan ;)
If his first trilogy was so pleased me, I can not say the same about this book. I liked to read it but I read slower than the previous ones (read a book faster doesn't mean it's a good book...I know). There are beautiful moments in this book but the story is sometimes a little disjointed and repetitive. These are slices of life of different people who lived in Keflavik at different times. I think I'll have to reread this book to be sure of my opinion :)
Have a nice weekend!

Lyngby

I still have pictures of Denmark I have never posted. I had taken a lot during my visit to the Open Air Museum in Lyngby near Copenhaguen, so here are a few!

lately

We had a lot of good weather lately. Every week I enjoy sunsets when my daughter rides. Soon it will be dark and cold ... so I will bring hot tea to wait and resist ;)

Have a nice weekend!
