Cut, Crop, Cure 2011

I had a WONDERFUL time at the Cut, Crop, Cure fundraiser event for Warrick County Relay for Life yesterday! While it was a relatively small crop, the people were great, the food was absolutely AMAZING, and the entire day was fun! Sharon and her relay team put on a fabulous day for everyone! They had goody bags for all the croppers, hourly door prizes, a silent auction, yard sale table, and more!

The food was AMAZING (yes, I know I said that already)! We were served home-cooked meatloaf and/or fried chicken for lunch with green beans, corn, mashed potatoes and gravy, and a DELICIOUS chocolate cake for dessert.  Dinner was spaghetti with salad and garlic bread - and more chocolate cake! I think it's the best two meals I've had all week! (Shhh! Don't tell my husband - LOL!) Of course, there were snacks throughout the day as well - zucchini bread, apple-raisin bread, banana bread, chocolate chip cookies, chips & dip, and more.

Vendors for the day included Creative Memories, TNT Scrapping, Scentsy, and myself.  Kim, with TNT Scrapping, offered a technique demonstration on how to sand and color plain chipboard.  Becky, with Creative Memories, had a place set up to demonstrate their punches. I offered a free 12x12 page make and take with an additional page kit available for purchase if attendees wanted a 2-page layout.

Inspired by fellow consultant, Carol Labuski, I created and offered the following page for our make and take:

Pattern: Magic - Mystify
Papers: Typeset
Stamps: Limited Edition - September Stamp of the Month (not shown)
Inks: Cocoa, Vineyard Berry, Juniper (not shown)
Accessories: Milepost Shapes, Black Grosgrain Ribbon (retired), Designer Ribbon Black (while supplies last), Black Buttons (non-CTMH)

The title, swirls, and tag were cut using the Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge. We stamped the journal box from the Limited Edition set on the tag in Cocoa ink, added the phrase "Good Times" in Vineyard Berry ink, and added "date" and "what" in Juniper ink.

Here is the second page that I offered as a page kit - complete with all pieces pre-cut, embellishments, and instructions:

Thanks so much to Sharon and her relay team for inviting me down to their event! If you're looking for a small crop to get some things done, this is definitely one I would recommend! It's worth it just for the AMAZING food!

Until next time...

Crop for the Cure 2011 {Round 1}

The first of 2 Crops for the Cure was held last weekend in Evansville, Indiana.  Once again, I was THRILLED to return to such a wonderful crop for a GREAT cause! We had 250 croppers attend this crop. Amanda and all the volunteers do an AWESOME job at putting on the crop.  It's filled with great friends, great food, TONS of prizes and SO much more!

The left page was my Make & Take for the crop.
The right page was available as a page kit for purchase for those croppers that wanted a 2 page layout.

Each year, I donate 10% of my sales from the crop back to the Crop for the Cure for the Susan G. Komen Greater Evansville Affiliate.  I'm happy to say that I will be donating $40 from this crop!  Thanks to all those croppers who stopped by to support my Close To My Heart booth for the day!

Until next time...

Scrappin' For Life Crop

I had SO much fun at the 3rd Annual Scrappin' For Life Crop in Boonville this past Saturday!  Jen and the other helpers did a FABULOUS job of hosting.  The crop was a fundraiser for the American Cancer Society. Together, we raised over $1000 for the American Cancer Society!

There was ample space for everyone. And I met so many wonderful people!  We had vendors from Stampin' Up, Creative Memories, Make Time To Create, and, of course, me with Close To My Heart.

Thanks to everyone who attended and supported Jen's event!  Special thanks to Jen H. for coordinating!  Looking forward to next year!

Until next time...

Crop for the Cure {Round 2}

The second crop of this year's Crop for the Cure was this past Saturday.  It was another GREAT day! Thankfully the rain held off until we were loading my truck that evening. Thanks to everyone who stopped by to visit my Close To My Heart booth and check out our products and artwork and talk with us!

I offered a different make and take for this crop using the You Rock Level 2 Paper Packet and Star Power Stamp Set as well as the Just Be You Stamp Set from the You Rock WOTG Basic Kit.  I also used Outdoor Denim Twill, Pewter Photo Clips, White Daisy Grosgrain Ribbon.

The left page was the make and take. It is from Reflections - Main Frame Tied Together.  The right page was a page kit that could be purchased and featured Reflections Quartet Perfect Square.  It included all the precut pieces and accessoires.

Special thanks again to Lea Rae and Sherryl for spending the day with me and helping me out.  Special thanks also to my mom for helping with make and takes and putting together the goody bags and page kits.  I could not have done this without their help and I greatly appreciate them!

Here's a few photos from the day:

Thanks to everyone who stopped by and shopped during the crops! Thanks to you, I was able to donate $72.56 back to Susan G. Komen for the Cure!

Until next time...

Crop for the Cure {Round 1}

The first of two Crop for the Cure events was held at Vanderburgh County 4-H Activities Center last Saturday.  I had SO much fun attending again this year.  Amanda (the coordinator) and her volunteers always do an outstanding job of making it a great event!  It's a great event not only to visit with friends and make new ones, and hopefully get some scrappin' done, but also to raise money for a great cause.

Thanks to everyone who stopped by to visit my Close To My Heart booth and check out our products and artwork and talk with us!

I offered a simple 12x12 page from Imagine {Monologue} and had page kits available for purchase so that participants could go home with full layout if desired.

The left page was the make and take. Participants got to stamp the title and assemble the page.  We used the Topstitch Level 2 Papers, Chocolate Ink, Friendship Alphabet Large Stamp Set, and Colonial White Ribbon.  It's always fun to see the pages that everyone comes up with.  I just provide the pieces and a sample layout, participants can then assemble however they want for their own layout.

The right page was the extra page kit that could be purchased.  It included all the pre-cut pieces and the ribbon. I also included an instructional sheet for assembly suggestions.

Here's a few pics of my booth....

Special thanks to my mom and boys, who graciously helped stuff my goody bags and cut and assemble make and takes and extra page kits.  Okay, so maybe the boys got drafted, but I still appreciate their help.

Special thanks also to my friends Lea Rae and Sherryl who helped me out at the crop with setting everything up and taking it all back down, as well as taking care of things while I was doing the make and take that afternoon. I could not do this without them and I'm so thankful they don't mind spending 12 hours just hanging out.

I'm looking forward to the next crop on the 13th!

Until next time...

ScrapPink 09

I had a FABULOUS day today with the ladies from The Scrapbook Tree and about 30 croppers during the 2009 ScrapPink Crop at VU's Green Activities Center. It was great to see old friends again, as well as make new ones. I was also lucky enought to work with Marcia Marion from Creative Memories and Phyllis Richardson from Stampin' Up - two wonderful ladies!

I only managed to get 5 cards done - 2 of which were done during Phyllis' class, but I did have fun. I hope everyone else got more accomplished than I did.

I taught a scrapbooking class where we made a 2-page layout using the October Stamp of the Month - Holiday Warmth. You can see more details in my Blog Hop post. Thanks to the ladies who took the class - I had fun and hope you did too. At least you went home with one layout done and ready for pictures.

There were door prizes throughout the day. As well as contests for who wore the most pink and the pinkest croppin' space. It was fun to see everyone dress in pink and decorate their space. Local businesses and people donated prizes for a raffle. Thanks so much to all those who donated something to the event. I'm sure LaDonna will share how much we raised today.

Here's a few pictures from today:

Be sure to check out The Scrapbook Tree's blog in the next couple of days for their pictures and news!

Until next time...
