CHAPTER 12 - CHALLENGE HEARTS!

"First came ten soldiers carrying clubs; these were all shaped like the three gardeners, oblong and flat, with their hands and feet at the corners: next the ten courtiers; these were ornamented all over with diamonds, and walked two and two, as the soldiers did. After these came the royal children; there were ten of them, and the little dears came jumping merrily along hand in hand, in couples: they were all ornamented with hearts. Next came the guests, mostly Kings and Queens, and among them Alice recognised the White Rabbit: it was talking in a hurried nervous manner, smiling at everything that was said, and went by without noticing her. Then followed the Knave of Hearts, carrying the King's crown on a crimson velvet cushion; and, last of all this grand procession, came THE KING AND QUEEN OF HEARTS."

-- Chapter 8; Alice's Adventures in Wonderland

This week is my week to share! I know last week you got a sneak peek on the Oh Alice blog. This week it is on my blog.

I have made a canvas with the queen of hearts. I love Lily's images, they are so fun to color! I started this canvas by covering it with gesso to give it some bite. I then painted the background with acrylics paint. While this was drying I set in to color my image, the Queen of Hearts. I used Prisma Colored pencils on her, layer after layer until I like the way she looked. I used my Cricket (Provo Craft) to cut out the castle. I used matte medium to adhere both the castle and the queen onto the painted canvas. Then I cut out Whimsical Heart Stems and added them to look like a fence. Then the shading began to make it look like those Whimsical hearts were jumping off the page. I really enjoy making this. So much fun to play around with shading. I added some glossy accents to the eyes and a few of the hearts.

I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!

Now it's your turn, go get your hearts going and join in this fun challenge. Head over to the Altered Alice and enter!

3rd Cosmo Cricket Project

This is the 3rd project I am going to share with you.

I was walking in the thrift store one day and had seen this white house with a horrible ugly stuffed doll inside. It had glitter all over it, it was horrible! However, I loved the little white house box and thought someday I could do something with it.

Well Now was the time to pull it out and make a sweet little wall hanging for a little girls bedroom.

I used the new Cosmo Cricket Tea for Two line. This had 3 holes at the bottom of it and I had no idea what the holes would have been for, so I took 2 tacks and painted them to match and put one of the flowers from Tea for Two over the 3rd hole. This is how it looks today!

ENJOY!

Spool Fun

This is another project I did for Cosmo Cricket. I love the way these spools came out. So fast and easy to make. You can use them as picture displays or name place holders. How fun for a little girls tea party.
I hope you love them as much as I do.

Oh and the cute little girl, that's my cute little Clara. She is growing up so fast.

Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Valentines Day!

It's time to share

This week I will be sharing the projects that I made for the Cosmo Cricket booth for CHA (Craft and Hobby Association).

I absolutely fell in love with this line. It is called Tea for Two. It has the best patterns. It has a very vintage feel to me. I would love to see this line come out in fabric. I will be the first one in line. This would make the cutest quilt or little girls dresses.

Speaking of dresses, I made a dress form out of the sizzix die by tim holtz. Then folded a skirt to dress the form. I think it came out so sweet. I love the yellows and blues, they are fabulous together. It's funny, while CHA was going on I was seeing pictures on Facebook and different blogs of the projects I made. It was strange to see others put the pictures on their site.

If you have not seen this collection by Cosmo Cricket you must! It is amazing!

So here is a tag I made!

Make sure you stop by Tuesday for another project.
