The aim of this study is to examine the relationship between middle school students' attitudes to... more The aim of this study is to examine the relationship between middle school students' attitudes towards robotic coding and their STEM career interests. For this purpose, data were collected from a total of 213 students studying in three different secondary schools in a province in the south of Turkey. The "STEM Career Interest" scale and the "Robotic Coding Attitude" scale were used as data collection tools. The analysis of the data indicated that there was a moderate, statistically significant relationship between the participants' attitudes towards robotic coding and their STEM career interests. When the data were analyzed in terms of sub-dimensions, a medium-level significant relationship was found between the participants' attitudes towards robotics and their science, mathematics, and engineering career interests, and a high-level significant relationship was found between their technology career interests. Additionally, sub-factors of robotic coding attitude (interest, motivation, desire to learn, self-efficacy, and anxiety) significantly predicted the participants’ STEM career interests. Accordingly, it can be posited that as participants' attitudes towards robotic coding evolve, their interest in STEM careers also expands. Consequently, it is postulated that all activities that enhance attitudes and boost interest in robotic coding, whether conducted within or outside the school environment, will facilitate students' pursuit of a STEM-related career in the future.

Several problems such as the deterioration in water regime, climate's getting harsh, desertificat... more Several problems such as the deterioration in water regime, climate's getting harsh, desertification and the decrease in agricultural productivity have been experienced in and around Lake Avlan which was dried in 1970's entirely for the purpose of opening new cultivation areas. Upon the deterioration, the gates of the regulators were closed by the Ministry of Environment upon the written demand from almost 3000 people from the vicinity by the organization of a mayor and 37 village headmen. Lake Avlan is the first wetland on which a decision of restoration has been taken upon the demand from the people in the vicinity, including the villagers who were given a piece of land from the lake. When the things experienced with the case are taken into consideration, it is observed that the perception of education on environment has changed and the importance of education on environment increased. The education for environment is aimed to raise individuals who are aware of local, regional, national and global problems; who approach these problems with concern and sensitivity; who spend effort voluntarily for thesolution of such problems; and those whose ecological culture, environmental moral and environmental consciousness is high (Atasoy&Ertürk, 2008). The aim of this study is to identify the views of the teachers who work in the schools in the vicinity of Lake Avlan on the lake. The STEM learning approach, which integrates science, technology, engineering, and mathematics di... more The STEM learning approach, which integrates science, technology, engineering, and mathematics disciplines, is increasing its popularity in all countries. Countries are trying to ensure that students develop their cognitive, affective, and scientific process skills by integrating the STEM learning approach into their education systems. In this context, it is considered important to prepare course contents suitable for the STEM learning to approach within the scope of the curriculum, and design-based activities are included. It is thought that the number of guide applications on how teachers can use the STEM learning approach in their lessons to teach their subjects by following per under the STEM learning approach is insufficient. In this study, the literature was searched using the traditional compilation method, and a lesson content suitable for the STEM learning approach was produced by blending my smart greenhouse activity, which was developed for the 7th-grade environmental education lesson outcomes, with the 5E teaching model. It is aimed to increase the diversity of guide resources that teachers can use in their lessons by giving the produced course content together with the application stages.

Öğrencilerin araştıran, sorgulayan, eleştirel ve yaratıcı düşünen, problem çözme becerisine sahip... more Öğrencilerin araştıran, sorgulayan, eleştirel ve yaratıcı düşünen, problem çözme becerisine sahip, derse ilişkin olumlu tutumlara sahip, bilgiyi günlük hayata aktarabilen ve fen okuryazarı bireyler olarak yetiştirilmesinde kullanılan yöntem önemlidir. Ortaokul düzeyinde birçok becerinin kazanılmasına olanak tanıyan, farklı öğrenme etkinliklerinin gerçekleştirilmesinde ideal bir yöntem olan proje tabanlı öğrenme, öğrencinin bağımsızlığını desteklemekte, farklı yeteneklere sahip öğrencilere farklı yardımlar sağlamakta, programda esnek yaklaşım, etkinliklere izin vermekte ve diğer öğretim teknikleri ile birlikte kullanılabilmektedir. Kullanılabilecek tekniklerden biri de senaryo tekniğidir. Bu çalışmada da Madde ve Isı Ünitesine ilişkin senaryo destekli proje tabanlı çalışma yaprağı hazırlanmıştır. Bu bağlamda yapılan çalışma betimsel bir çalışma niteliğindedir. Çalışmada; 6. Sınıf Fen ve Teknoloji dersi Madde ve Isı ünitesinde, proje tabanlı öğrenme yönteminin senaryo tekniği ile kullanımına yönelik örnek etkinliklere bulunmaktadır. Bu çalışmada proje tabanlı öğrenme yöntemi senaryo tekniği ile desteklenerek hazırlanmış çalışma yaprağına yer verilecektir. Çalışma yaprağında toplam 17 kazanımı kapsayan proje tabanlı öğrenme destekli 7 senaryo örneği bulunmaktadır.
