Anhar Alhussaini
Dr.Anhar Alhussaini is an internist and cardiologist with advanced training in echocardiography from McMaster University and Cardiac Intensive Care fellowship from the University of Toronto. She is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Canada. Currently a master's student at the School of Education, Johns Hopkins University for Master of Education in the Health Professions (MEHP) and the Safety, Quality, Informatics and Leadership (SQIL) certificate program, Harvard Medical School.
Dr.Alhussaini graduated from King Abdulaziz University, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, in 2007 with MBBS and honours. She was awarded a scholarship in cardiology and was appointed as teaching assistant at the Department of Medicine at Kind Saud bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, with clinical activities in internal medicine and cardiology at King Khalid National Guard Hospital in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia from 2008-2011.
Dr.Alhussaini area of interest in medical education is competency-based learning and leadership with a specific interest in developing a competency-based cardiac intensive care program. Another area of interest is decision-making under uncertainty in critical care. She envisions safer and better cardiac intensive care for all cardiac patients. She promotes excellence, empowerment, and collective intelligence in cardiac intensive care.
She enjoys watching movies, skiing, hiking and biking. Her day begins with a cup of coffee.

further testing. Blood cyst on the mitral valve has been described in
case reports and they are a common finding in infants and
neonates(1). There are 38 case reports of blood cyst on the mitral
valve that we are aware of through PubMed search with about 60%
of the cases had pathological confirmation. Given their distinct
appearance on the transthoracic echocardiogram, it became the
modality in which these cysts have been recognized. We describe a
case of incidental mitral valve blood cyst with a review of the
literature.
