Whimsy's Special Hop

Hello and welcome to a very special blog hop today!  The illustrators of Whimsy Stamps have come together to draw a special set of digi images for the purpose of raising money for the relief effort in Japan.  All proceeds from the sale of these images will be donated to that cause.   Kenny K, Raindrop Echo Designs, Meljens Designs, and Crissy Armstrong all contributed art work.
For the whole month of April, you can purchase the images as a set or individually (your choice)  by visiting this page on the Whimsy store site.  Please consider helping this special cause by purchasing one or all of the digital images we are offering.

If you have landed here from Lisa C's Blog,  you are right on track.  If you have come here randomly and would like to start hopping from the beginning, please go to Crissy's blog.   She has the blog rotation order posted if you need to refer to it.

The amazing ladies of two design teams have come together to host this blog hop for you!  Crissy's Crew from Sundays With Crissy and Denise's DT from Whimsy Stamps have joined forces to design some amazing jaw dropping creations for you.  You have seven days to hop through all the blogs and enjoy all the lovely creations from these talented people.

The hop runs from now through til Sunday April 10 at noon.  There will be several opportunities to win blog candy!  Four random commenters will get a chance to receive one of the three individual images or Ann's sentiment set.  So be sure to leave comments all along the way for your chance at a free digi!  Also, if you post the "Help for Japan" button on your blog's sidebar, you can enter into the draw for the grand prize!  The grand prize will consist of the entire digital set made just for this cause as well as a gift certificate donated by Ann of Raindrop Echo Designs worth 10$ to use at the Whimsy Stamps store! To enter, you must help us advertise for this cause by posting the "Help Japan" button on your blog's side bar (just grab it from my side bar or from the top of this post) and then get your name on the Inlinkz option on Crissy's post so we can be sure to find the winner.

Sweet Love

SWC~~~Stitching--Real or faux-- is the challenge theme this month :)  You have less than a week to join in.  Did you see Crissy's new digi's and stamps, they are just the sweetest~~~Click Here to view stamps and ~~~Click Here to view digi's!!!
I used Crissy's digi's Sweet Sarah and Can I Kiss You
My--they are darling together!!!
I shrunk down the original images quite a bit and then colored with Copics.  Gave Sweet Sarah dazzling silver shoes.  The pearls on her shoes and dress collar made with Viva Decor Cream pearl pen.
I created a scene card:  used the Brick Wall Technique idea which I saw on Donna's Blog-- Butternut Sage Designs!! Donna is sooooo very clever and I love visiting to check out what she is up to next :o)  THANKS DONNA!!!!!
Now... now... I have to tell you that I have NEVER sewn on a card before.  So I decided to give the faux sew technique a try :)  Used a template for the wall vine and free handed the beaded circle.  I was so impressed with myself that I even did a faux border on the inside of card LOL~~I am sure that those of you who do sew and are reading this are probably giggling away by now--someday friends I will machine sew cuz I just love the outcome!!
Wondering can anyone relate to this scene~~shy, bashful and maybe that first kiss?? :)
Finally used my Magnolia doohickey lantern~~~oh how I like!!  The antique look came by inking the BG distressed yellow paper with TH walnut stain and then slightly inking edges with Memento tuxedo black.  Brick wall: Paper Temptress Grey Ruche paper stamped with woodgrain background. Then stamped green leafy vine and fauxed the swirl before cutting apart and redesigning.
The dimension turned out fabulous :)
Inside of card:  see my faux (fake) sewing~~hee hee
Viva Decor has some pretty cool silkicon stamps--this one is called "Labeling Fields". Stamped with TH walnut stain in corners using stamp off technique and then stamped around message area with Studio G--green chalk after using MS around the page punches.
There will be five free digi's given to one lucky challenge participant who will be chosen by Random.org at the end of the month! You may now use images from any company and still be included in the draw for the blog candy prize! Those who use one of Crissy's images, either from her rubber or digital collections will be entered twice in the draw. But please respect the rule of no more than three entries per month. Otherwise your entries could be deleted.

Hope you are ready to give this a try :)  Are you a machine stitcher, hand stitcher, do you like the new sew easy tool or a faux stitcher like me.  We would LOVE to see what you create........ and then link your creation to THIS POST!!

 An Elegantly Simple Card!!!
Crissy has outdid herself again~~I wish I could think like her :)
I needed a 25th wedding anniversary card.....Whola!!!
First off~~I printed the Floral Heart digi quite large. Softened edges with TH Fired brick ink and Cut out with SB Scallop Heart--then did the cracked glass technique.  I don't have reinkers so........ I had to put my thinking hat on~~Hmmm.  Decided to trace cracks with Copic #24 and then took a little blender solution on a Q-tip to remove excess from enamel and it worked~~YEAH :D  It still looked alittle dull to me so I grabbed my versamark again and covered with Hallographic embossing powder and.....WOW does it sparkle Now!!!!!!!!   Popped up with foam tape and added Love sentiment that I made with shiny silver paper and my SLICE~~~I can't get enough of this fun machine :D
IRL it is so Gorgeous that I kept the card simple and only added ribbon with an elegant brad!!
Trying to catch the beautiful sparkle and shine of both paper and Image
Shows glassiness (is that a word)??? and dimension
The inside is all hearts~~~once again smaller version of Crissy's floral heart which was glitzed up with hallographic emboss powder only.  The other hearts are a $1 stamp from Michael's inked with TH spun sugar and the sentiment is SU.
RECIPE
Stamps: Crissy Armstrong's Floral Heart Digi; SU Well Scripted "Congratulations"; CraftSmart hearts stamp
Ink: TH Fired Brick-- Spun Sugar-and walnut stain; Computer; Copic and versamark
Papers: Recollections Precious metals; White CS
Tools: SB scallop hearts; MS heart border and rain drop round the page punches; Slice
Embellies: Ribbon; Paper studio brad; Melt Art ultra thick embossing enamel; Ranger Hallographic embossing powder
Appreciate your visit! You have truly brightened my day!! GOD BLESS
