(My apologies about the spacing - I edit it, and then when I publish the post, it's all wacked. Does this happen to anyone else? How do you fix it??)

Third Panel Progress

Worked on the third panel yesterday. I had to stand on a table in the corner of my studio and put my camera near the ceiling to get all three panels into the picture. More additions and changes. Starting to pay more attention to the larger shapes that are forming and connecting the three panels...

Saturday Studio

I was in my studio from 11am - 11pm yesterday. Here are some triptych process/progress pics, not necessarily in chronological order. I can't back away from it enough to get a picture of the whole wall at once. These panels are slightly overlapping right now, but I intend for there to be space between them when they are exhibited. It's coming along. Tomorrow I will get over into that right hand panel...

Tuesday was Mardi Gras, International Women's Day, and it also just happened to be my private Mixed Media Portraiture class, with Extension of Self as the day's assignment. I asked the women to bring in items that describe inner aspects of self to fuel their drawings. We worked with black gouache and a variety of dry media. Some interesting, powerful, and whimsical self-portraits emerged!

I wore my Dream Dress from 2004, grabbed a toy vanity from the church nursery, and drew with markers and crayons from the Sunday School classroom stash. Lots of fun. Such a great group!

More changes to the left panel of my triptych.

Although some splashing from the tub made its way to the center panel...

So much for my clean studio.

I'm interested in the larger shapes that are emerging as I work this piece....

Push Pull

On my way into the parking garage late this afternoon after 2 days in the studio.
